The remnants of what used to be one of the largest forests in Europe still conceal its share of mysticism and magic. Many a creepy tale originated from the German Black Forest and from the very same Black Forest hails the pagan folk metal band aptly named Finsterforst . For their upbeat display of pagan mastery on their previous album, they have garnered much deserved attention across the folk scene. Yet they have been criticized for sounding like Moonsorrow. Some people you can never satisfy. Somewhere along the road, people have seemed to forget that folk metal has its deepest roots in Germany. Well before the Vikings revived the flame, a few occult bands were throwing caution to the wind by reinventing the tried-and-true music from medieval time. Finsterforst are the proud descendants of those bands and their third studio album Rastlos Restless in English] is here to consolidate their status.

...Zum Tode Hin was far far far better.

Huge let down.

They're trying to sound like Moonsorrow. They've done it pretty well but their older style is better.

Not something I would listen to often, but surprisingly enjoyable and cheese-free for me

After first listening it was just good, but now it grew for me to excellent album. This isn't boring music, you just need to understand the beauty of it.

I love older albums, specialy Zum Tode Hin...BUT!... this albums is great! Folk instruments are not so represented like before, but in this case, I think it´s better. Very good music, nice melodic parts with normal voice mixed with hard... Top 20 albums for 2012 definetly for me.

The album is very good ...
Making music is very good ... Of space with traditional instruments have very beautiful album .....
But I do not think this would take first place in the standings ....
But in general, is to go higher

Thanks again MS awards, this is pretty epic. Sounds a lot like Moonsorrow yes, but it's different enough.
