It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Hooded Eagle is a doom/extreme metal band from Charleston, SC that incorporates other extreme genres into their sound. They recently released their debut album 'Nightscapes from the Abyssal Plane' on 13/12/2015, and it's very metal, hence why it should be on Metal Storm \m/. Check it out!

The Erkonauts from Geneva, Switzerland are a Progressive Metal band with influences that reach from punk to progessive rock to modern metal. They have released a single and a full length debut album. The album is called 'I Did Something Bad' and was released in 2015. The band features former members of Sybreed, Djizoes and 7-tone. The first song off of their album is called 'The Great Ass Poopery' and that alone had me check out the tune.
Surprisingly sounded pretty good actually. Have a listen yourself, here is a link to their music video of 'Dominion Mundi' which is featured on the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syE-ZeOAiNk&list=RDsyE-ZeOAiNk#t=82

So...Witchgrinder is a groove industrial metal band from Australia. They're playing some dynamic groove metal with addition of nice electronics and synths. I have a fun listening to their music, so I think that it's good for them to be here. If you're tired of Fear Factory winning "best industrial metal album of the year" you should check them.

By all rights, the Polish band Pinkroom should be huge by now. They have two very well-received albums, 2009's Psychosoltice and last year's Unloved Toy but, like a lot of indie bands, they seem to not have much name recognition, even among die-hard prog rock and metal fans. Yeah, perhaps it's because they've only done those two albums in 6 years but more likely it's due to their distinctive and very idiosyncratic approach to their music. Sure, they have their influences like anyone else (Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree etc.) but don't really fit into a style that is easily pigeonholed and is even harder to describe. The Pinkroom sound is a combination of riffs, moods and textures that run the gamut from light to dark moods with elements of psychedelic, jazz, chamber and prog rock with tons of heavier metal elements along the way. Liberal use of keys and even trumpet, flute and cello also really help to give the band their unique style.

Signed to Avantgarde Music (https://avantgardemusic.bandcamp.com/album/empires-of-ash) and have been receiving very positive reviews (see their Facebook page). Mentioned in a member's list of top 5 most interesting albums (http://www.metalstorm.net/users/list.php?list_id=4668).

because they are one of those few bands that still have their own composing and signatures in progressive genre not like many bands that are copying tool and dream theater they are a good band like Arcane and Caligula's horse
29.05.2016 - LeKiwi
Great band, but I don't think their most recent is metal. Their debut is though.
06.06.2016 - Paw!!
This is progressive rock not metal ;)
17.09.2016 - KarloJelincic
A very modern sounding prog metal band, one that is similar to bands like Caligula's Horse and Agent Fresco.
25.05.2016 - The Underdog
Started off as a instrumental progessive metal band. While in search for a singer to front the band they released their first single 'Soma' in october 2015, this song is also featured on their first EP 'Resurgence' which was released in january 2016. Melodic and ambient soundscapes mixed with heavy guitars, influenced by bands such as Tesseract, Deftones and Periphery amongst others.
Here is a link to their EP Resurgence

Pathless Land were formed March of 2010, amidst the backdrop
of Progressive Metal stalwarts, Tempest Eternal. Originally envisioned as a "spacey metal shred with a touch of prog" side project by guitarist Matt "Mattowarrior" Davinci, it became a beast all its own when Matt decided to make the jump from Tempest into the great unknown. Musical and other differences fueled the split, and Matt embarked on the beginngs of what would be a huge undertaking into many different stylings of heavy metal music with diverse influences. Inspired by many one man bands which over the years have run the gamut from Bathory to many of Devin Townsend's projects, Matt decided to record an album/demo to make his first move alone on the metal map. The aptly titled came out in 2012, and even though a sometimes rough set of recordings recorded at various times the 2 years before, it was a statement of intent from the Judas Priest meets classic German power metal "Wings of Vindication" to the space rock of "TQJ" (standing for the quantum jump) to the technical prog death and swedish melodic death inspired "End Times". Variety was the order of the day, and Mattowarrior makes his debut on vocals and all instruments with equal aplomb. But while Matt sowed his metal oats with , something was missing. With the urge to play live and after a series of shows with another band (the very different but equally eclectic Midi Warlord (now called Axxxed), a live show was envisioned for Pathless Land. Also almost simultaneously, new ideas were brewing to carry the Epic Metal tradition even further and that brings us to now, a period that in which Pathless is making the transition from solo project to full band, a band which shows the promise of being one of the best brand new metal bands in America, and perhaps the planet. Or perhaps the universe, as you the listener, are just a traveller along for this ride.

Solid new band, debut album came out 5/20. Sounds like emperor + shred + death + whatever, its proggy in spots. Going on tour, they could use another listing and they would be a great addition.

Founded by Finnish guitar maestro LARS ERIC MATTSON and keyboard player Alexander King the CONDITION RED Progressive Rock project was a truly international affair, incorporating Italian hotshot guitarist ALEX MASI and renowned keyboard player DEREK SHERINAN, a veteran of both ALICE COOPER and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN. Ella Grussner of BARKAVALL contributed violin and vocals. Lion Music released the self-titled debut in July 2000.
CONDITION RED returned in 2003 with the second instalment, granting singer / violinist Ella Grussner a much more prominent role from that of her contributions on the debut and adding EMPIRE drummer Gerald Kloos.
The band donated their rendition of DEEP PURPLE's 'Black Knight' to the 2003 'Blackmore's Castle - A Tribute to Deep Purple and Rainbow' album issued by Lion Music. Torgny Stjärnfelt guested on the 2004 BOOK OF REFLECTIONS debut, a mainly Scandinavian "All star" symphonic, neo-classical Power Metal project assembled by LARS ERIC MATTSON...

3/4 of this band is from Ne Obliviscaris http://metalstorm.net/bands/band.php?band_id=3932&bandname=Ne%2BObliviscaris. They've got Dan Presland on Drums, Brendan Brown on Bass, and Benjamin Baret on Lead Guitar from NeO. Also have this guy, http://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Ben_Boyle/286. I have listened to this album more than everything else that has come out this year except Mistur. I really enjoy the fretless bass (toured with Beyond Creation, Montreal tech death what), the atmospheric girl vocals ala Fallujah (but more to my liking), tremelo picking (blacken it a bit), and mega complicated driving drums you've grown to love from NeO. Samsara is definitely my favorite track. The segment at 1:58 is magic. This whole album is killer and the relative lack of vocals makes it really unique amongst the tech-deathy genres.
02.07.2016 - Ngejo
Really good instrumental tech death featuring 3 members of Ne Obliviscaris. Their debut, Śūnyatā, was released on 2016.
