It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Slade have been associated with a number of genres including: progressive rock, heavy metal, glam rock, hard rock and pop rock. Many Slade songs were to be written specifically for audience participation, such as "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", and "Cum On Feel the Noize". Although their musical style has changed over the years, they leave a long lasted legacy that have influenced numerous artists including: Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Quiet Riot, Poison, Def Leppard, and many others.

I think the QR covers are the hardest their songs will ever get.
17.12.2012 - ScreamingSteelUS
Listen to the live stuff and later albums especially. Slade was one of the great, original hard rock/heavy metal bands. Their early material rivals Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, and even Judas Priest, and their '80s material was heavier than Quiet Riot ever was. They even replaced Ozzy Osbourne at the Reading Festival in 1980 and were hugely successful. If Mötley Crüe, Kiss, and Def Leppard are on here, then surely Slade, as not only the original but better and heavier, should be as well. +1 for sure.

I like black and white
Dreaming in black and white
You like black and white
Run Runaway...if this song isnt "metal" enough, then i dont understand metal at all...
11.05.2013 - JēkabsFiļi
Slade shall never be listed on Metalstorm. This is just old school rock band that has nothing to do with metal.
12.05.2013 - Divergenceless
Completely agree with ScreamingSteelUS- this band deserves a spot on Metal Storm.
18.05.2013 - Syk
Think I agree with J-kabs with the accents... If no Pink Floyd... no Queen... why Slade? Seriously? |
|
03.02.2012 - Imtholiel
Imtholiel is a new band and they are working on their single and album in these days. Their songs are mainly about fantasy worlds and stories with power metal sound and female vocals. Their single will be available soon and they have covers from different styles on their sites. |

21.08.2010 - Snufkin
Hevisaurus is a band for children, created by Mirka Rantanen (ThunderStone). His aim is to bring hard rock music to the younger, by playing basic riffs and singing lyrics which attract children (Jurassic, hell yeah) to make them enjoy metal and hard rock. It's a funny band and I think it deserves to be in Metal Storm.
15.09.2010 - Meller
No. Fucking. Way. Period. I hope this clever crap from marketing people ironically called as a band dies a swift and justified death. If needed to promote heavy metal for kids, give 'em the real thing.
02.03.2011 - tricky

20.12.2011 - Array
I remember accidentally pressing that + for this months ago. Now let me be clear. I'm AGAINST.
26.04.2012 - blackend
Hevisaurus are the proof that FInnish kids are the future!
They are the ONLY Heavy Metal band which actually plays metal for kids to enjoy.
Not surprising, they sound pretty nice.
Should have a spot of honor in MS! :)

24.05.2012 - The Benighted
Corelia are a burgeoning progressive/technical metal band with a single EP under their belts. With a sound not unlike Protest the Hero and The Human Abstract, they've come across some especially interesting ideas along the way, with a stunning selection of songs, to boot. 'Nostalgia' was released in 2011, and I've been listening ever since. Highly recommended.

Info in English here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Suaves
They should be here as Spain is a kind of important country as regards metal fans and this band is together with another 4 or 5 the most famous hard rock and rock band in the territory. Above all from Madrid northwards. They only reason why outsiders don't know them is the fact that they sing in Spanish. Otherwise, they would be popular enough for you.
Their music style is quite similar to The Ramones, Motorhead...The voice is let's say "peculiar". They are still active after 28 years and still selling out venues.
Their website appears to be in maintenance now. |

EXIST M is a 4-piece metal unit, a small band with the big sound. A remarkable member of Minsk metal scene.
Bands unique sound explores the space of more than two decades of heavy music, combining the raw guitar sounds of groove metal with modern metalcore constructions, the speedy riffs of thrash metal with the soul of a real hardcore.
EXIST M's reputation of an uncompromising live performer is well deserved. Approved by the metal audience of Belarus, Ukraine and Poland, EXIST M is a welcomed guest at the stages of different music festivals, including the international. The band has gained a number of music awards and nominations, "Best Metal Voice" and "Best Newcomer" among them.
As for now, the Belarusian metal music phenomenon is ready to go worldwide with the first full-length album, released in December 2012.

Caligula's Horse started life as a solo project for Quandary guitarist Sam Vallen to express the heavier side of his musical personality. The project started in early 2010 while Quandary was on a writing hiatus whilst recording their debut album Ready To Fail. Sam began writing music without the context of Quandary's musical framework to guide him; delving into music that was heavier and more guitar centric, with an emphasis on studio production and layering. The music took an intentionally modern form, incorporating influences as diverse as Frost*, Steely Dan, Meshuggah, Devin Townsend and Porcupine Tree.

Sincarnate delivers a death metal vibe but with an added mix of melodic attitude that progresses every so often it makes the music quality sound that more realistic. Sincarnate's choice of style is rather typical but they manage to pull off some unusual skills that make their music stand out above all the rest. Strong, floating guitar melodies, helped by equally interesting, ethnically influenced at times, keyboards, inventive drumming and a vocalist who's able to find the right approach for what the music calls for in the given moment. All doomsters are encouraged to support this fresh sounding band, the scene needs such acts for a proof that when ambition meets up with work coming directly from the heart the end result can be nothing else but a really captivating listening experience. So this goes into saying that, Sincarnate surely has what it takes to get the ball rolling music-wise but will continue to establish it altogether piece by piece.
Sincarnate is a very important presence on the romanian (death) metal scene, with many live appearances and fans outside and inside borders, with an EP and a 2010 opus that was very well received by all those whom have listen to it. More infos and music on official website and myspace page:

Helker is a solid band of Heavy Metal Power formed in 1998 with three studio albums, the most important (in my opinion) is "Resistir" with lyrics that talk about Social Denounce, everyday things of life, etc.. Helker gains experience playing in concerts with outstanding international bands as Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Paul Di 'Anno, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Primal Fear, Shaman and Masterplan. |

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012. |

Everyone knows SM who is into the late 80's/early 90's glam metal scene. They were a trend following band, always playing what seemed appropriate at a time, however their album first two albums are still among the bests of the genre (looking at a wide range :P) |

Because it is a really worth listening band from Poland. They are playing a "mixture of rock and roll and metal", according to their own site. Also there are only a few bands from Poland on Metal Storm. You should just listen to them and then decide. I recommend these few songs: "Plastic Bag", "Crimson Skies", "Last True Cowboy Manifesto" and "A Heart Beat". You can find all of them on YouTube. Enjoy!;d |

Need more decent Indian metal on MS to go along with Demonic Resurrection. 'Among the Dead' EP was distributed (mainly online) in 2005 and 'Consider This' 27-minute full-length was released two years ago, to good reviews. For an idea of how they sound, check the Myspace player of Hungarian band Human Error here on MS and listen to "Concentration Army" - Exhum(IND) is more varied, more DM; more brutal, more tech, more groovy, etc... and with slightly longer songs. Can also be found on http://www.reverbnation.com/exhumationindia |

Metal Storm needs Dreadnought because of their unique musical fusion and instrumentation. They are a metal band in which one genre cannot describe. They incorporate elements of black metal, progressive rock, post rock/metal, folk, sludge, and jazz. The four members play guitar, flute, bass, mandolin, drums, saxophone, keyboard, and vocals (both clean and harsh). Visit http://dreadnoughtdenver.bandcamp.com/album/lifewoven to listen to their newly released full length.
