It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1
27.03.2014 - Mehdi Taba
Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

I just recently got into these guys, they're pretty good. They're core so haters will be on them of course, BUT they're music is awesome! The guitar and drums synching are so tight, its hard not to enjoy listening to them.
08.11.2011 - diabolicintent
they have turned down record deals in order to stay independent and have release many FREE albums in their 13 year career. they have given headline support to well over 50 signed bands including Lamb of God, Cannibal Corpse, Mastodon, Chimaira, Dying Fetus, Origin, Hate Eternal and many more. support the TRUE under ground by supporting independent bands. 8 string guitar tuned to low e (hasnt been done yet in metal) 6 string fretless bass and a monstrous drummer hailing as one of the fastest on the space coast of Florida. - give the masses the chance to judge.

Over his career, he has performed alongside artists such as Joe Satriani, Jennifer Batten, Greg Howe, Mike Portnoy, Michael Angelo Batio, Chester Thompson, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Billy Sheehan to name a few. His latest album was 'clean'(2009). He has also recorded two DVDs- Martone (2004) and Live In Your Face (2007).
04.11.2011 - Meller
Blast in your face, drum machine fueled Grindcore, emphasizing on 'core'. Though drummerless, this is not your ordinary 'in your face' hyperblast ANB'ish stuff. The execution may have faults, but they are technical, not in the songwriting. A new album on the way (or recently released, I'm not quite sure of the release date), this is interesting stuff with great attitude and huge balls.
03.11.2011 - Leafy_Dragon
Straight Reads the Line blends all of my favorite aspects of metal flawlessly. They are energetic, original, and sound great.
The have one full-length album (The Author - 2008), and have toured with metal greats such as Protest the Hero and the Human Abstract, and many other metal/hardcore acts.
I urge you to listen before you judge the hardcore tag.

Pyrrhon released their debut full-length this year (EDIT: 2011) and it is nothing short of excellent. They deserve to be up there with the best. Their dark sound, sudden tempo changes and general sound is fantastic.
EDIT: Seriously, it's been more than two years now and Pyrrhon are now releasing their second album. Get them on MS already!
03.11.2011 - Igeldude
Kaarnekorpi are a pagan folk metal band from Finland. All their lyrics are in Finnish and sung with very low growls. They have a few demos out and an EP which was released last year, and since they're still active, there will probably to be more to come. They have some pretty nice guitar riffs, but their keyboard is pretty prominent throughout most of their songs. Their EP "Ukon Mahti" sounds really good, if you want to check them out, the title track or "Ahti" is pretty good. However, that's not to say their demos aren't any good, they're very solid releases definitely worth checking out too.
01.11.2011 - warensemble
This band has being influenced by Teutonic Thrash Metal most notably heard in their sound, by Kreator which is a rather rare occurrence. They have released their first debut full-length album 'Torment' in January this year. The inclusion of this band on MetalStorm will help users rediscover the raw aggression of their further development of early Kreator albums such as Endless Pain and Pleasure to Kill.

Akerstache is the ultimate manly Glam Metal/Cock Rock band. With songs that are all about love, sexual intercourse and fire of desire what's not to like? With deadly lighting fast guitar and the manliest raspy vocals Akerstache is the contender for the manliest artist of 1985.
01.11.2011 - Kvltness_94
Akerstache is probably the best (and manliest) heavy/speed metal band I've ever heard and it deserves to be known.
01.11.2011 - SatoruKimu
Akerstache must be the best I've heard in a very long time. The heavy mixture of Glam-Speed Metal and Cock Rock is beyond superb and has the manliest voice ever.
01.11.2011 - turpakäräj
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this gem. The vocals are among the best in the world and not to even mention the crushing riffs and heartbreaking solos.
21.07.2014 - andreosokin
+1!! Should be featured on MS :D
31.10.2011 - Satanachia
Grecco combines diffrent styles of metal like, thrash, heavy, progressive, death, tech metal. It´s a diffrent style and it sounds unique. The vocals are clean and growling making all the music sound diffrent from other bands. The production of the album is not the best, but still there´s something about this band that wants you to hear it over and over again!
