07:07 - Redn1ght Lol.... I just noticed that my sort-of encyclopedia of mythologies is made in Egypt... A MIRACLE, so many books are printed in China.
04:56 - ScreamingSteelUS Yeah, it seems like Cracked has now overtaken "MAD." Moving online in 2005 was a very smart idea. I've had the chance to peruse some old "MAD"s myself, but I've been a loyal fan of Cracked for six or seven years now.
04:49 - Redn1ght No wonder then! @Screaming. (Only way I knew about MAD was because of seeing some OOLD issues in a second-hand book store and dad showed them there.)
04:43 - ScreamingSteelUS Actually, yes. Cracked began life as one of the many magazines competing for the market "MAD" created. It was the only competitor that managed to survive, and while they now have their own empire, they began as a "MAD" ripoff.
04:36 - Redn1ght Hmm.. I wonder if there's any connection between MAD magazine and Cracked.com.... Their humor is similar to each other in a way.
04:18 - Boxcar Willy Fuckin' purolator didn't notify me my package was here so now they shipped it back to the sender. Beyond pissed off.
It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.
08.03.2012 - Kuroboshi
Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1
27.03.2014 - Mehdi Taba
Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".
18.04.2009 - Dr.Rock
It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

Because this band will blow your mind. its like Amon Amarth but with clean-ish vocals. The vocalist makes the band... majestic. After only watching their official video, i immediately fell in love with their style. If you like Amon, Ensiferum, Enslaved, and fucking awesome vocals, this band is for you!! \m/

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Horned helmets + spandex pants = Faithful Breath! Looooong long before viking metal has become a fixed term these Germans sang about heavy metal vikings while thrashing on their plastic drakkar in some port bassin on the German river Ruhr (check the video clip for the song "Skol"). In 1987 they transformed into the speed metal band Risk which already has a profile.

NETHERMOST is the logical transmutation of the now extinct Dark Awake (1998-2009) taken to a profounder level of musical expression.
Former Dark Awake members Enryk, Scar and Nosfear, once former singer/guitarrist Gerard left the band, decided to continue in their personal search for a release from tedium vitae through art.
The addition of sepulchral throat-man Angelvs (former Lvx In Tenebris axeman), and the occasional contributions of lady Sally's organs have made possible this new era.
From the depths... beware of what lies in the NETHERMOST

Tragico Ballet one of the best mexican gothic band, they have played with Anabantha, To Die For and other important bands in the scene.
They have recorded only one album but they are going to relase their second album soon.
Tragico Ballet have good future.
27.03.2010 - Valaskjalf
Pretty much straight-up blackmetal, but with lots of melody and variation. Sounds similar to Immortal but more fresh and more diverse. Been a fan of this band for a number of years now and think they will be a worthy addition to the site.
26.03.2010 - thanatos666dc
the damned creation is a band very good Italian ... with very different songs together and have a style and a very personal sound ...mix their ancestral melodies and hypnotic with violents rhythms...should not miss in your rooster!!!!

Last Deception was born in January 2003. After some line-up changes the band was completed in 2004 with Jesús Alonso (vocals), Antonio Mansilla (guitar), Alberto García (guitar), Luis E. Mansilla (bass), and Jesús Sierra (drums). In December 2004 they recorded their first demo, and in February 2009 they completed their first EP, "A Nation Burning Fast". Featuring members from such bands as Dawn Of Tears, Folkearth, and Hordak, they play with an edge and are bound to become more known with the release of their EP.

Blatherskite are an Australian band who play an indefinable blend of Rock/Metal and Prog, they are very intense and there are some truly metal moments on the album "Where the Wasteland Ends". Tuned very very low, and riffy enough to be metal. Featured on JJJ's "The Racket" in 2010, as well as on Andy Farrow's top 5 unsigned bands. http://www.northernmusic.co.uk/unsigned/
23.03.2010 - Matus
Awesome band! Definitely one of Australia's best bands in terms of originality and quality of music, worthy of the might that is Metal Storm!
22.03.2010 - Fastolphbolger
Fatal Opera combine here 70's hard rock, heavy metal and jazz/fusion elements and merge everything into soulful, emotional musical masterpiece!
It's very strange that the mastermind of Fatal Opera, drummer Gar Samuelson (ex-Megadeth), gave his band such a name, as if he foresaw his own death after the second album. R.I.P. Gar...

AMAZING BAND !!! ... and criminally neglected :(
Songwriting - 10

Unique Finnish hardcore punk/thrash metal band with two things in mind - Gambina and manslaughter!
19.09.2010 - Meller
I don't know how much they have to give for the outside world, but I love 'em so much I''ll cast my vote in the wind and hope for the best. Definitely at it's best when enjoyed with the insane lyrics, but the music itself has enough bashing and twisted groove to keep every grind / hardcore metal maniac happy.

It's a band of 90's. Formed by Stephen Flam (Winter) on guitar, featuring Roy Mayorga (Soulfly, Medication, Stone Sour) on drums and John John Jesse (Nausea, and now illustrative painter) on vocals and bass. For a band billed as guitar industrial, it sounds more like industrial alternative, with a bit of keyboards. The music literally reeks of former hard-rock band as Whitesnake, Poison, Warrant, Firehouse. They released 1 full-lenght and 2 eps in 1995.
18.03.2010 - Wildchild-91
We Built This Ocean is a band from Norway that have played for almost 1 year now, and I think more people should hear about them.
They have recorded one demo (two of the songs can be heard at myspace). This is their old style though. A new demo will be recorded this summer, and an album is planned to be recorded in late 2010
18.03.2010 - WhiteHawk
Old band from Finland who been around since 1984 who plays old school heavy metal. Not sure, why they aren't on here. They sing in Finnish though. So I hope, anyone who understands Finnish will be interested in this band or lives in Finland. In addition, if your fan of old school heavy metal looking for more to add into your collection then give this a chance.
18.03.2010 - WhiteHawk
Great Canadian band who plays death/thrash metal that kinds reminds you of early death/thrash metal during the 1980s. Anyone who truly enjoys early thrash/death metal should check this band out. In addition, those guys are pretty new not old band. They also have great old style vocalist with powerful instrumentation.
