Dead is Dead was conceived in early 2016, and put into action soon thereafter. Mark ( For stella ford, Volunteer, Stock options) met Eric (Pre-emptive Strike, currently Productive Cough) sometime in 2013 through mutual friends. Where it was discovered Mark, Nick (For Stella ford), and Eric all had similar tastes and influences. The conversation of playing together quickly began and would take on many different conceptions before finally being applied in 2016. We came together with a clear vision of what it was that we wanted to create.

Pulling from a variety of influences to make something that will be hopefully bigger than ourselves as individuals. Falling into the Post-metal catch all genre on the surface. However, many elements exist within; Doom, Progressive, math, shoegaze, ambiant drone, dark psychedelia. With obvious nods to predecessors, and some hiding under the surface. We didn't set out to sound like anything in particular Rather, it snowballed from a culmination of inspirations and visions within the writing process. We decide to take our time and perfect what it was that we wanted to say. Not rushing to play shows, we kept pushing in an attempt to create something we felt would have the most impact. We began recording a 6 song lp, in January - March of 2017. Eric having taken on all engineering duties, as well as mixing and post production.

Again, we took our time. We have released our first full length recording "Contraints of Time" in September of 2017. We look to convey a deep sense of thought through explorations of what it means to create in sound. Viewing songs more as sonic landscapes as opposed to just a song without vision. Viewing nothing without meaning and purpose, it has lead to a series of sprawling epic songs. Coalescing to create a swirling landscape of emotions and feeling to hopefully leave the listener feeling something.
