Biography

Another Messiah play energetic, atmospheric and innovative metal: post-doom metal. The young Dutch band have received unanimous critical acclaim for their ability to combine a wide variety of different styles, yet always remaining loyal to their somber and melancholic undertone. The dark atmosphere is enhanced by the sound of a true classical oboe, which gives the band an "ear-catching" appearance. Influences can be heard from bands such as My Dying Bride, Opeth, Gorefest, Rammstein and Orphanage. However, sounds from styles that are far from metal are present as well.

In 2003, Another Messiah released their first EP called 'Another Renaissance'. This mini-CD was enthusiastically received and led to worldwide attention for the band and their music. In 2004, Another Messiah entered the finals of Metal Battle, a national contest between 40 seIected metal bands. A Lowlands and Central European tour followed, after which the band started preparing for their first full album: 'Dark Dreams My Child'.

Joost van den Broek (Ayreon, After Forever) produced this new album, which was largely recorded in the well-respected Excess Studios in Rotterdam (NL). To promote it, a new tour through Poland followed. The album, which was released on the 2nd of October 2005, received great reviews, both nationally and internationally.

In 2008 Another Messiah decided that enough is enough. With sadness in their hearts, they thank all fans for their support, their final concert was in January 2009.
