Imagine starting the year in style. In January 2011, when everyone else is stuck with cold weather, snow and rain, 40 Heavy Metal bands and 2000 fans will take over a luxury cruise ship in the Caribbean for a 5 day and 4 night trip of a lifetime.

Tons of onboard live shows on several in and out door stages, open mic nights, bars that never close, a fun- and sun-filled day on the beautiful island of Cozumel (Mexico) and an opportunity to mingle side-by-side with the artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario that has no comparison.

Day 1 Miami FL: We will be sailing out of Miami in the afternoon. The live shows will start shortly after departure and will extend late into the night while we set course for Cozumel.

Day 2 Day on Sea: A whole day on the open seas, sailing along the Cuban coast. Enjoy tons of live shows all day and night long, workshops, bars that never close (again; bars that never close!), poker tournament in the casino, an open mic night, and tons of other onboard activities.

Day 3 Cozumel MEXICO: The ship will arrive at the beautiful island of Cozumel in the early morning and will be docked the whole day. If your hangover is not too bad you can leave the ship for the day and choose from many exciting activities. You can go snorkeling or horse-back riding, visit some ancient Mayan sites or just hang at the beach, have some margaritas and tacos - and swim in beautiful, blue waters!

Day 4 Day on Sea: If you thought the first day on sea was good - you will be blown away on this day! All this while you have the opportunity to mingle side-by-side with your favorite artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario that has no comparison. It's like everyone has a backstage pass. This is more then just a cruise vacation. It is also more then just a Heavy Metal festival. This is 70000tons of METAL. For artists and fans alike, the trip of a lifetime!

Day 5 Miami FL: The ship will arrive in Miami in the morning. You might even need a vacation from this vacation when all is said and done!

iMorphball - 30.12.2009 at 05:23
Amazing.
Galar - 03.01.2010 at 20:25
Thats fuckin sick
Achromatic - 08.01.2010 at 17:26
Crap. It's in exam week.. need to find a way out of exams.
macraigma - 15.01.2010 at 21:29
Once my income tax return hits im stashing a couple G's away for this... thank you kids!!
MetallicA - 21.01.2010 at 05:51
This would be pretty awesome! doubt I could afford this...I'm already planning a trip for this summer.
Zeh - 14.02.2010 at 23:41
Looking forward for this. I'm booking this them this week.
Any brazilians or south americans?
Ellrohir - 15.02.2010 at 01:25
Wow...announce festival more than year before?
Xnoybis - 15.02.2010 at 06:09
You'll likely need at least a year to scrape together the coin to go...
Evican - 12.03.2010 at 16:26
I am so there!
DaftDormouse - 01.04.2010 at 02:59
I need to see some more bands before I decide if I'll pay that kind of money.
Joey Jo Jo - 16.05.2010 at 04:52
I live in miami, and this is the first metal fest to come here pretty much. I'm saving up and hopefully I get to go. The only problem I'm having is that it's really pricey to go solo. I might need a room mate to help with the price.
Valentin B - 16.05.2010 at 10:14
Excellent idea, only FUCK this is impossibly expensive. i do say that for that price they do need to bring out the big fuckin' guns. i surely wouldn't pay 900$ just for food, 6-7 concerts and the possibility to bump into Uli Jon Roth while on the ship.
-Soulreaper- - 06.07.2010 at 18:46
Just bought my tickets for it. should be awesome.
Roro - 09.07.2010 at 12:15
Omg its like a dream vacation to me , the perfect vacation ever
Brodd - 13.07.2010 at 21:41
This i going to be great. I can't wait!
Carl Berg - 14.07.2010 at 01:36
How the hell can people afford to pay this festival? A cabin alone costs 1000 dollars + 250 administrative fee? And beer is not even included??
Abattoir - 23.07.2010 at 14:18
Yeah, this looks as a very exquisite vacation....I would probably go, if I wouldn't have to fly all way to Miami

However I don't find 1250$ expensive for this kind of trip, which for me it would be a very luxury one.
Legendary - 16.08.2010 at 23:54
Might be able to afford the tickets to the cruise, just not the tickets to get to the US
Xnoybis - 17.08.2010 at 02:52

now you know how i feel every time hellfest, roadburn, and doom shall rise roll around.
Glabrezu - 28.08.2010 at 10:22
This is amazing, but only for aristochratic metal fans
Ellrohir - 10.09.2010 at 12:52
Lol...i just noticed this event exists...awesome
Linak - 12.09.2010 at 15:46
Do you think the tickets will sell out soon? If we plan to buy our tickets, say within one month, how likely is it to still get the relatively inexpensive double cabins?
Linak - 13.09.2010 at 04:06
And just for the record, the metal cruise was my idea.
Aetherius - 19.09.2010 at 08:41
This is for metal royalty only. seems even we have a caste
Maudraum - 28.09.2010 at 19:33
I bought my tickets months back. With the exception of Epica who I can't stand this is pretty much a dream Metal package.
Valentin B - 29.09.2010 at 19:00
Iced Earth announced...

commence hatin
Evican - 20.10.2010 at 12:26
There's too much Power Metal for my liking! We need more Black, Death and Doom!!
Zeh - 08.11.2010 at 03:11
Iced Earth and Blind Guardian confirmed = Demons and Wizards??
90IRONMAIDEN - 25.11.2010 at 19:54
I WISH ONLY IF I WAS RICH:-|
Lit. - 02.12.2010 at 01:15
I would seriously pull a "Detroit Rock City" to see this.
Lexus - 14.12.2010 at 06:20
Can't wait for this!
Introspekrieg - 14.12.2010 at 06:36
Are they serving roast quail and Earl Grey tea?
I_Die_Often - 17.12.2010 at 03:32
Shit like this is why I play the lottery!!!
Come on Mega Millions!!! I need to escape the frozen tundra!!!!!
Evican - 26.12.2010 at 10:33
If anyone is still thinking of going, 50 cheaper cabins have just been made available as the first 50 people who booked have been given upgrades.

Use this code to receive 10% off the newly available cheap cabin rates: SIPRWGZY
Brodd - 10.01.2011 at 21:31
Only two more weeks. I can't wait!!
Kwis - 14.01.2011 at 23:13
How sweet this will be...if I could go
Evican - 17.01.2011 at 03:23
Hell yes! Some Death Metal to round out the last band announcements. Can't wait!
MordecaiHexagram - 21.01.2011 at 08:31
I'd love to go to this. It's such a good idea!
Dark Cornatus - 23.01.2011 at 07:42
It's a fantastic idea because gigs/accommodation/food etc is all right there. It's like a festival on a ship. It also provides bands with more exposure and a larger audience than just a solo gig.
Galar - 23.01.2011 at 20:36
Omg
Turdburner - 24.01.2011 at 21:05
What a great idea...too bad 95% of the bands are gay as fuck. 3-4 grand to see Malevolent Creation, Marduk, Arsis and Obituary...Ill pass. Sorry Im just hatin...but godamn how great it would be if there was a decent lineup. Screw all those sleep inducing power metal bands and go all American Death Metal and European Black Metal. Y'know like Deicide Nile Immolation Suffocation Mayhem Immortal or even Cynic.
Evican - 02.02.2011 at 04:57

BEST FESTIVAL EVER!

Bring on 70000 Tons Of Metal 2012!!

More details, please!
Evican - 02.02.2011 at 23:02
There's nothing I can say that can justify how amazing the cruise was. The bands, the fans, the staff of Majesty Of The Seas... No one can speak ill of a single thing. Burton of Fear Factory even got up during dinner in the dining hall on the last night and made a toast in front of everyone and said that this is the greatest festival of all and that he and everyone should be proud of the whole damn thing. Testament wanted it go keep going for two more days and we got the feeling that the bands wanted it to keep going as long as the fans wanted it to.

Kareoke was another highlight. Memebers of bands were singing karaoke with fans and everyone was just having a great time. Search YouTube for some videos, I'm sure you'll fnd them.

More details about next year will be announced soon as far as we've heard from the promoter through the grapevine.
