Here is some epic folk metal for you courtesy of Equilibrium. The German band will unleash Armageddon upon us this summer, their fifth studio album. Guitarist, composer and lyricist René Berthiaume spent almost two years working on this new opus and the result is rather dark, according to the label. But you can be the judge of that. Just months after Equilibrium's bassist Jen Majura joined Evanescence, she has now decided to leave Equilibrium "due to unsolvable differences and personal views." She was in a band for a short period of time only. The Germans wish her the best and will continue to work on their new album for 2016.
Equilibrium's bassist Jen Majura has joined forces with the rock band Evanescence as their new guitarist. This is due to Terry Balsamo's departure after working with Evanescence on two albums. Evanescence's Amy Lee wrote on Facebook that she met Jen Majura during a show in Germany and apparently was impressed by her performance on stage.
Equilibrium have just announced a headlining tour across Europe to showcase their new album Erdentempel. The trek will happen this October with the support from Trollfest and Nothgard in Germany, France, Switzerland and the U.K. The band promises more dates next year.

According to the band, this weekend they received an unexpected message from Sandra van Eldik and her brother Andreas Völkl, who told them that they will leave the band. With so many releases being announced lately, Equilibrium have also revealed all about what will be their fourth studio album. The German folk metallers have named it Erdentempel and guitarist, composer and lyricist René Berthiaume spent almost four years working on this new creation. The cover artwork was done, just like the one for the Waldschrein EP, by Skadi van Terror and yes, you can see it right here along with tracklist and other details.
After their Waldschrein EP last year, folk metallers Equilibrium will be returning to the studio to record their new album. The group is currently working on the follow up to their 2010 album, Rekreatur. In a few days, they will enter the Helion Studios in Munich to kick off the recordings with guitar player and producer René Berthiaume. The other good news is that you can expect the yet untitled album to be released this summer via Nuclear Blast.
After a dry spell of three years, German viking folk metallers Equilibrium fans can rejoice because they have announced today the release of their very first EP to date. Waldschrein, as it is called, will be released on August 16th via Nuclear Blast. The cover art as well as the tracklist can be seen below. A full-length studio album is to follow next year.

The song comes off the band's brand-new effort Rekreatur which was released last Friday June 18th via Nuclear Blast.
