01:25 - LuciferOfGayness Forum is more or less dead in relation to experimental stuff since Jooe left
01:24 - MetalDoomMaster As half assed as Herzebeth's reviews were I highly enjoyed them.
01:20 - Bad English Nervel lol he wrote good reviews, but he was part of smurf metal gang .... and same time Der Roz was best reviewer
01:16 - Apothecary If I could bring one person back it'd be that Lucas guy who used to review on here a while ago. Always covered a bunch of really obscure, batshit bands and his reviews were pretty hilarious too. Partly inspired me, actually

"Solitude Aeturnus - one of the most respected names in the doom metal field with a style that borrows from classic doom as well as progressive metal. Formed in the spring of 1987, Solitude Aeturnus are still pummeling souls into doom metal submission! Robert Lowe's haunting vocals, unbelievably heavy and slow riffs, strange melodies and sublime compositions - all this complemented by the band's desperate, insane, theatrical yet profoundly personal appeal.
This legendary doom metal band from US returns today with two albums re-released by Metal Mind Productions - "Through The Darkest Hour" and "Downfall".
"Through The Darkest Hour" - Solitude Aeternus' third full-length release from 1994. Recorded in March in England at Rhythm Studios, the album showed a simpler and heavier direction, proving to be the band's best achievement yet, mainly because of an excellent production and top notch composing. New digipak edition includes 2 bonus tracks recorded during band's show in Warsaw in February 2007.
"Get ready for an hour of despair with the uncanny doom metallers from Texas! Robert Lowe's haunting vocals, unbelievably heavy and slow riffs, strange melodies and sublime compositions - all this complemented by the band's desperate, insane, theatrical yet profoundly personal appeal.
The tracklist of this very first Solitude Aeturnus DVD entitled "Hour Of Despair" artwork] will be comprised of songs filmed and recorded live during their visit in Poland, including songs from their latest album "Alone" as well as from some of their previous releases (from the classic debut "Into the Depths of Sorrow", from "Through the Darkest Hour", "Downfall", and the cult album "Adagio"). The DVD will also feature an interview with John Perez and Robert Lowe as also " Live at On the Rocks, 1992" and "Live at Joe's Garage, Fall, 1987" bonus video footage.
Solitude Aeturnus have entered Nomad Recording studio (Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, Absu, Usurper) in Carrolton TX on June 1st to begin recording their new album for Massacre Records. The album will be entitled "Alone" and will be the first to feature the bands new line-up which includes founder/guitarist John Perez, vocalist Robert Lowe, guitarist Steve Moseley and new members Steve Nichols on drums and James Martin on bass. Engineering and co-producing the album is Sterling Winfield, best known for his work with Pantera and more recently the "Rebel Meets Rebel" release. Massacre Records will release the album in late September/early October. According to guitarist John Perez the album will be a fist in the face to all trend metal and will stay true to the bands original vision of heaviness and melody with a willingness to push the boundaries of Heavy Metal music without losing its sense of tradition. A North American release is also planned but no label has been named as of yet. The band also wishes to give monstrous amounts of gratitude and thanks to all the great people that made their recent mini tour in Greece/Germany/Italy such a great success. The Greek shows were some of the best the band had played in years and the Keep it True festival was another highlight. More apologies are in order to all of those that attended the Doom Shall Rise festival as Robert Lowe was unable to attend due to unforeseen problems with his passport. The band made the best of the situation and played on with gracious help from a few other vocalists; Erico from Dantesco, Timmy from Doomshine and Gerrit from Dawn of Winter.
Due to legal paperwork the recordings of the upcoming Solitude Aeturnus album entitled "Alone" have to be delayed (at least) until mid January, this "assuming all goes well".
John Perez commented: "Our apologies to everyone yet once again for another delay in getting this recording for "Alone" started. We are more than ready but we have to deal with some red-tape legal paperwork before we can start. It's not something we have control over unfortunately. Before we can get the necessary money to start recording we must first have these blasted forms/paperwork filled out for Massacre. Without going into every sordid and boring detail, let's just say that something went wrong with the necessary forms and we have to go through the process again, which takes about 4 weeks to complete."
To all of the fans(and not) of Solitude Aeturnus, who were asking what's up with the band, the band decided to post two new demo clips from the upcoming album "Alone", to listen to the songs enter on http://www.eternalsolitude.com/pages/01_news.html or http://www.eternalsolitude.com/pages/05a_audio.html .
Well, we are one step closer to finishing the upcoming release of "Alone". The drums are completed and the rhythm guitars and bass tracks are being recorded as I write this. If all goes as planned (ha: that never happens) I should be laying vocal tracks come January.
Once again--keep the faith, for Solitude is back and shall reclaim the throne of Doom!
