French prog death outfit Gojira have been busy writing material for their new album, amongst other things.

The band checked in on their MySpace page: "A lot happened since our last message so we wanted to give you some news today and let you know we are still alive! We know you are all eagerly awaiting the Sea Sheperd EP release. We are sorry for the delay. Some of the material was on a hard drive that crashed but we are nearing the end of a long and difficult recovery process. Now the good news: the new album is ready!"

"Of Blood And Salt", a brand-new track from French extreme progressive metallers Gojira has leaked on the interwebs and can be streamed in the YouTube clip below (for the time being) or at this location.

Gojira has issued an update from the studio, revealing plans for a live DVD, the Sea Shepherd EP and a new album.

In the words of the band: "We are currently working on a live DVD with important bonus section : "The Way Of All Flesh From The Inside", the Sea Shepherd EP, (a non profit operation with a lot of people involved is a bit complicated to wrap, but we're getting there and we promise to release these songs soon). We're also composing a new album! We've written pretty much half of it, and we are very excited by this new material. It's a big step for us. These songs are original and a good reflection of what we are today.

We are so focused on these things, that sometimes we forget to communicate with you guys, but we'll try to post more updates from now on."

"All The Tears", the new animated video from French metallers Gojira has been made available online. "All The Tears" comes off the Gojira's latest album, entitled "The Way Of All Flesh", which was released on October 13, 2008 via Listenable Records. The clip was directed and made by Spanish artist Jossie Malis.

Drummer Mario Duplantier comments: "We first came accross Jossie's work with his astounding animated films: Bend It To Machine and we really liked the way he told stories in a very mysterious and unusual manner. His enigmatic animations deal with serious issues and are yet always permeated with a sense of poetry. We, as music writers, are trying to mix very different emotional atmospheres. We are happy to present a visual/audio work that gathers the sort of brutality of our music with the sensibility of his drawings."

Drumm​er Mario​ Dupla​ntier​ recen​tly told Radio​ Franc​e Inter​natio​nal about​ their​ first​ show in North​ Ameri​ca: "We arriv​ed in Montr​eal where​ we had a great​ and warm welco​me, just as usual​,​ we notic​ed that the peopl​e from Quebec seem to like Frenc​h bands​ in gener​al.​ This first​ show at Metro​polis​ was sold out and peopl​e were very enthu​siast​c and wild durin​g our show,​ we felt somew​hat overw​helme​d by the crowd​'​s energ​y... that was aweso​me! We reall​y need to go back there​ for a headl​ining​ show next time!."

French metallers Gojira have posted online their new video, for the song "Vacuity", which can be viewed at this location.
The video was helmed by French producers Julien Mokrani and Samuel Bodin of Six Pieds Sous Terre Productions. The location of the shoot was in the Basque country where Gojira resides.

"Vacuity" comes off the band's upcoming album, entitled "The Way Of All Flesh", which will be released on October 13th via Listenable Records.

French progressive metallers Gojira are currently streaming 10 of the 12 songs from the band's forthcoming "The Way Of All Flesh" album on their MySpace page.

According to the band's manager, Richard Gamba of Sphere Management, "we had planned to stream the whole "The Way of All Flesh" album from September 29 up to October 5, but due to unfortunate problems with the brand new MySpace player, we're only able to stream ten songs. French metallers Gojira have revealed the cover and the tracklisting for their new album, entitled "The Way Of All Flesh", which is scheduled for release on October 13th in Europe via Listenable Records and on October 14th in the US through Prosthetic Records.
The cover features artwork created by vocalist Joe Duplantier. Joe also drew the artwork for Gojira's previous album "From Mars To Sirius". The new album was tracked in Los Angeles with producer Logan Mader (Cavalera Conspiracy, Soulfly) and at the band's home studio in Bayonne in the south west of France.

As Joseph Duplantier told Total Guitar magazine, the album deals with their vision about life and death.
Gojira will tour as special guests with In Flames in Europe in Sept/October with US tour dates for the fall to be announced shortly.
