Korpiklaani - Update On The New Album

As previously reported, Finnish folk metallers Korpiklaani are working on yet another new studio album. The band released the following update:

"We have been pretty busy finishing our upcoming album Ukon Wacka. "Ukon Wacka", or Ukon Vakat, is a pagan sacrificial feast from ancient times, on which a special made beer richly flowed. As can be expected from the title, this album has an ancient and very folky feel and is totally in Finnish. To make the lyrics understandable for non-Finnish people, we will add an English description/translation in the booklet as usual.

The album consists of 10 songs, among which you will find a song name "Tequila", which is especially written for (and inspired by) our South American fans, with whom we celebrated such hard times, and who welcomed us so warmly, when we were touring in South America. Another surprise is the title song, "Ukon Wacka", in which a special guest features: the famous Finnish singer Tuomari Nurmio! Last but not least features a tribute song ("Päät Pois Tai Hirteen") to the Finnish rock band Peer Günt, a great and underestimated band. We hope and expect that this album will give you as much joy as we had making it; a big folky feast for all!

You only have to wait a bit, the release date is scheduled for February 4th 2011."

Amberian Dawn - New Video Online, Line-Up Changes

Finnish Symphonic metallers Amberian Dawn recently shot a video for the first single off their latest record, End Of Eden - incidentally released today. The song is called "Arctica", and the video - directed by M. Nieminen from Routafilmi - can be viewed below.

In other news, the band has suffered a major line-up disruption. Main composer Tuomas Seppälä explains as follows:

"There's no drama involved in this line-up change. It's all about time issues. I hope very much succes and happines for you Tommi Kuri (bass), Joonas Pykälä-Aho (drums) and Emil Pohjalainen (guitars) in the future. You can meet the new line-up of Amberian Dawn on our music video "Arctica". These new guys have been around already before - Heikki Saari (Norther, Naildown) used to be our original drummer in 2006 and he played drums on the songs "River Of Tuoni" and "Evil Inside Me" on our debut album, River Of Tuoni. Bassist Jukka Koskinen (Norther, Wintersun, Cain's Offering) has already played one gig with us last summer at Tavastia Club. We're ready with our new line-up on our next gig in Helsinki, November 26th in Dante's Highlight."

The new Amberian Dawn line-up is completed with the addition of Helion guitarist Kimmo Korhonen.

Greatest Metal Video Ever... Satanic Black Metal Guest Edition

By popular, close to overwhelming demand we are hosting a Tr00 Satanic Black Metal edition of the infamous Greatest Metal Video Ever... Series. Here to take you on a journey to the world of raped goat corpses, shameless blasphemy and expressive panda make-up is your mistress of evil, Elodie Artour. Off we go!

The Black Satans - Satanic Darkness

Shot in the deepest darkest woods of Finland on a sunny summerday, The Black Satan's video has everything a black metal video needs: inverted crosses, an undisputed toughguy attitude, female slaves, evil facial expressions, partial nudity and a flag of Norway. Grimness; they're doing it right!

Reckless Tide - Kleemähendeäbte

The life of a black metal warrior sure is tough... or so this video implies. We all know those days when you wake up with tons of make-up and Hawaii shorts on, when it feels like the whole world - including that son of a bitch Superman - seems to be in your way. Add a wiseguy in a suit who has had his face painted, performing a line that could be described best as a mixture of Alphaville and HIM, whispering to a plush white tiger and an iceman trying to make a living... and what do you get? The perfect black metal video of course!

Dark Kirchensteuer - Leb' Doch Selber!

Acoustic black metal anyone? That sounds as absurd as eco spiritual black metal does, but respecting these musicians in the name of Satan is obligatory here. I bet every single black metal warrior dreams of the day he hangs himself on a forest tree with some acoustic black metal in the background, headbanging himself to death. Such an inspiring and romantic way to commit suicide... The only thing making this video somewhat ridiculous is the hippy drummer - then again, he sure as Hell fits perfectly with the band's style. And remember, the acoustic guitar - the Lord of Darkness seems to love it!

May Satan forgive me for making fun of his servants!

On February 8th 2009, Xandria finally announced their new singer with the following message: "We all have waited long for this moment, and without putting you on the rack anymore we just introduce her to you now. The new Xandria singer's name is Kerstin Bischof, and here you get further infos on here."

Kerstin Bischof herself commented: "Finally I can come out with it! I'm so excited about being Xandria's woman at the mic in the future! The guys and I are busy writing new songs and I love it! I can hardly wait entering the stage with them for the first time! In the first audition rehearsal I already felt that it just fit perfectly together - the songs rocked! Of course the guys were kind of held back at that time but when they told me a few weeks later they felt the same...

So here we are in the midst of tour preparations for the gigs in the Czech Republic and I'm so excited about rocking the set live! You had to wait a long time for the official announcement and I want to thank you all for your patience - there was some "stuff" to get rid of. But finally it's official and time to rock! I'm looking forward to seeing you all on tour!"
