Iced Earth - New Single Widget Online

A widget for Iced Earth's forthcoming single "I Walk Among You" can be found at this location

The new single and proceeding full-length studio album mark the return of longtime frontman, Matt Barlow to the band who's dark and sinister tones are the perfect fit to narrate the intense and viscous annihilation of mankind set in motion with the birth of the story's main character, "Set Abominae", in "Something Wicked Part II". The single will allow fans to get a glimpse of the bright future for the band, and the perhaps not-so-bright future for humanity as we now know it. The single will feature 3 songs, an exclusive version of the song "I Walk Alone" and a few tracks from "Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1)" with new vocal performances by Matt Barlow.
Due to the re-tracking of the lead vocals these tracks have been remixed and remastered. There will be an iTunes exclusive version of the single "I Walk Among You" that features "A Charge To Keep" which has also been re-sung by Matt, remixed and re-mastered.

The full-length studio follow-up to "Something Wicked Part I" is due for release in fall of 2008 and it will be released by Steamhammer/SPV.

As We Fight - New Vocalist Announced

Danish Metalcore band As We Fight have issued the following update on their MySpace:

"After the departure of Jason Campbell in April, As We Fight can announce Esben Elnegaard Kjaer Hansen (Numbnuts, ex-Stomped) as the new vocalist.

Soren Hvidt states: "We are thrilled to announce that Esben Elnegaard Kjaer Hansen (Numbnuts, ex-Stomped) has joined As We Fight as the new vocalist. Esben is by no means new to touring life, which his work with Numbnuts, Stomped and stand-in duties in Nightrage demonstrates. Esben has already performed with us on five occasions, and we are very excited to have him on board!"

Esben Elnegaard Kjaer Hansen is currently locked away in the Smart N Hard Studio with producer Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere, Koldborn) recording vocals for As We Fight's third album "Meet Your Maker", which will see a release later 2008.

As We Fight is, furthermore, planning tours for the Fall and Winter in support of the new album. The first couple of shows have already been announced and more will follow the next couple of weeks."

Leaves' Eyes & Atrocity - Part Ways With Drummer

Leaves' Eyes and Atrocity have issued the following update:

Atrocity and Leaves' Eyes are sorry to inform you that Nick Barker cannot continue to play with the bands due to a drastic change in his private life. The bands wish Nick all the best in his future life and we hope that he will feel better very soon! Drummer Peter Hornung stepped into the breach for Nick at short notice for the shows at the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium and Rockmania Festival, so that the band was able to play the shows.

In other news, both bands have also stated that the already planned tour in China and Taiwan unfortunately had to be postponed until further notice. It hopefully will take place in autumn this year. Both bands are deeply touched by the momentary situation in the disaster areas and feel deep sympathy for all the people involved.

Borknagar - Drummer Quits The Band

Borknagar have issued the following update:

"Due to the latest years evolving differences in musical ideas and visions, Asgeir Mickelson has decided to quit Borknagar. The split happens in a friendly manner and with mutual respect for the decision that he has made. He will remain a good friend of the band. We wish to thank him for a great collaboration over the years and the best of luck with future endeavours! The split will have little or no effect on the schedule of the forthcoming album. We are currently working on pre-productions and we are heading for an early-next-year release. As stated before, the new album will regain the musical forces that dominated the 4 first albums. So beware!"

Decapitated - DVD Preview Online, Former Vocalist Joins Masachist

Metal Mind Productions will release the first-ever DVD from Polish extreme metallers Decapitated, entitled "Human's Dust", on June 9 in Europe and June 10 in the US.
The DVD will be available in two versions: as a standard DVD and as a very unique star metalpack DVD edition limited to 3,000 copies (more information about the DVD content is available here).

Also you can see an exclusive preview track entitled "Spheres Of Madness" on MetalMindPoland's official site on YouTube at this location (or by clicking here for a direct link to the video).

(Thanks to White Winter Sun for this piece of news!)

In other Decapitated news, Polish metal band Masachist have issued the following update:

"Hello! We are happy to inform you that we have just laid down the final tracks for our debut album. To be honest, it went far beyond our expectations, and that is mostly because we decided to strengthen the MASA-squad by adding a vocalist, who is one of the best in the genre. We are talking about PIG , the former throat destroyer of Decapitated. Welcome aboard!

There is no way we could not mention that we also have a special guest on this album. It is my personal highlight of the year and probably will come as a surprise to many of you. I would like to thank Adam(ex-Lost Soul) without whom it might not have happened. But here is the whole story in the words of Mr. PIG.

"It turns out you can't live without death metal, at least not for long...haha...But there really wasn't much to think about when considering taking part in this crime known as Masachist, since it is a bunch of my old friends, and I was sure they will make some good death metal shit. My final decision was made when I heard the songs - real death metal, with the actual essence of the style, without any of this new school crap. It got me started, hahaha... We recorded the album in Progresja Studio without any problems and had a lot of fun, sometimes maybe a little too much, and since at the time of recording the vocals Immolation were playing a gig in Warsaw, we were able to get them in the studio and feature Ross Dolan on one of the songs! This was the biggest surprise for us and definitely something special for fans of Immolation, including us of course. Thanks a lot Ross! All in all we have nine songs, which you just have to hear if the words "death metal" mean anything to you!

Of course I should also add that "Death March Fury" is the fastest, heaviest and meanest stuff this world has ever heard and Masachist is a Prophet that saves death metal and brings a guiding light to all those lost new-metal sheep and kids singing along to melodic choruses. You will apologize... cheers. PIG"

Meshuggah - New Video Online

Meshuggah have unveiled the video for "Bleed" in all of its gory, uber-frightening glory. The clip was produced by Ian McFarland and Killswitch Productions. Directed, written and edited by McFarland and Mike Pecci, "Bleed" boasts a fittingly-cinematic horror flick tone, and some genuine scares - seriously!

Killswitch Productions had this to say: "Working with Meshuggah was truly an honor for us. It's extremely cool to work with a band who is willing to allow the music and imagery to speak for itself and who does not insist on themselves being the prominent focus of the video. I think that takes real balls and I admire them as a group for doing so."

You can see the video at the official Meshuggah MySpace.

Andreas Hedlund - Launches New Project

Andreas Hedlund (frontman of Borknagar, Vintersorg) has launched a new project under the name Gravisphere. An unmixed track from the band, "Teleporting The Universe", is available for streaming on the Gravisphere MySpace page.

An update by the band reads as follows:

"We almost have all the music ready for what will be the debut album from Gravisphere. The songs are in the same style as Teleporting the Universe, but in the same time very different. Every song has its unique touch, but you can still recognize that it is Gravisphere.

It has been some speculation around wich label that will release the album. So far we have not signed Gravisphere to any label. So, anyone interested out there can send us a mail."

According to the band, Gravisphere is an experimental, symphonic black/electro metal consisting of Mr. V (Vintersorg, Borknagar, Cronian, Fission, WaterClime) and A. Stenlund S (TME). They are currently in the process of writing material to their first full lenght album.

For more information, go to http://www.gravisphere.se
