Annotations Of An Autopsy - Working On New Material

Annotations Of An Autopsy have issued the following update:

"So we've been away for a while, not touring or doing anything public, we havent been slacking, we've been locked away working on the new album which is now complete. In July we will be stepping into Foel studio (Napalm Death, Electric Wizard) to record our 2nd album entitled, "II: The Reign Of Darkness". Artwork and tracklisting will be released soon.

We are very excited to get this album out to you. we feel we've created something very special and unique and one of the best death metal cd's to come out in a long time, call it arrogance, call it confidence call it what you want but when you hear it, you'll see our statements are backboned, the aim of the last album was to be as heavy as possible, this is ten steps up and a reality check for the death metal scene.
Its not just about being heavy, its about writting the best songs possible, which we feel we have, this is going to turn alot of heads.

The album is dark, atmospheric and savage the concept is based around corruption, religion, sloth, devolution, emptiness and the future or lack of.

As you can see on our page we have a new logo too, the point of this is to get our name even further out there with a readable logo, the old logo isn't being thrown away we are stll using it on some merch items as we know you like it so dont moan.

We'll also be recording our first ever music video! At the moment the track we are thinking of doing it for is "Impale The Sun" which some of you may have heard us play at Hammerfest.

What does it sound like? Annotations Of An Autopsy! We've been away, but now were back to reclaim our crown as the leaders of UK death metal."

Swallow The Sun - Part Ways With Drummer

Finnish metallers Swallow The Sun have issued the following update:

"There is no easy way to phrase this, so let's get straight to the point: due to a mutual decision Pasi Pasanen will no longer be playing with Swallow The Sun.

Pasi, as one of the founding members, has been an integral part of the development of the band and it's sound since the beginning back in 2000. We have had good times, recorded 4 excellent albums and done unbelievable amounts of touring together, but now it's time for us to go on our separate ways.

Here's Pasi's comments on the situation: "Lately, I've been having a lack of motivation towards this kind of music and touring. The guys have felt it too and there's no point for me to deny it. It just affects the chemistry in the band too much, so it is time for me to step aside. I've gotten many good friends and some of the best experiences ever touring with StS. About 200 shows in 21 countries is something I never thought I'd get to do, so I want to thank & hail all the great people, friends, bands we've toured with and especially Juha, Jämy, Martti, Aleksi and Mikko for these years. And I'm sure you fans wont be disappointed with the future Swallow The Sun. Me and Juha will continue working together in Plutonium Orange, and you never know what other things the future brings, so: cheers everyone, see you somewhere!"

We wish him well in everything, and Pasi will continue to play with Juha in Plutonium Orange - which is the band that got Swallow The Sun started in the first place - and they are just finishing their debut album.

For what it comes to upcoming shows and the new album nothing will change. We won't cancel any shows, and we will enter Fascination Street studios 15th of June to record our next album. More information about everything will follow soon."

Thine Eyes Bleed - Update From The Band

Canadian metallers Thine Eyes Bleed have issued the following update:

"Hey everyone. Lots of questions surrounding our future lately. I figured time for an update. We been on hiatus for awhile now with the exception of a show last december in honor of our late manager, Dave Lander. It s time to get the machine running again.

We've been bustin' ass writing new material. Its been difficult with all of us scattered throughout North America and not in the same city. This will all come to an end shortly. This is who we are and nothing can change that. Having so much downtime has made us all realize how much we love this band and how badly we need it. We've been demoing new material and it is the best we've done to date. It doesn't stray too far from what we've written in the past but it definitely packs a punch and is a little more mature. We cant wait to get out there and play some new shit for you all."

Sahg - Sign With Indie Recordings

Norwegian metallers Sahg have issued the following update:

"Sahg has signed a new record deal with Indie Recordings. The band's engagement with Regain Records is hereby terminated. Sahg's third album release is already being planned, due for release through Indie Recordings in October 2009."

Singer and guitarist Olav Iversen states: "Signing with Indie Recordings seems like the most natural thing in the universe for Sahg to do. These people really care more about the music than the money, unlike most others in this business. That was crucial for our decision. We believe this is the right place for Sahg to develop further and keep on expressing what we want musically."

The record label announces: "Indie Recordings is proud to announce the signing our favorite rock act Sahg. We are extremely happy to add this wide-legged, sweaty class act to our roster. They bring along a new sound to our label - carrying on the legacy of the 1970's legendary hard rock bands in an outstanding way. We can't wait to help this band claim their rightfully deserved place in the scene! Indie Recordings welcomes Sahg into the family!"

Impious - Working On New Material

Swedish metallers Impious have issued the following update:

"We've been very busy the past couple of weeks writing and arranging our new songs, and they're all turning out pretty fucking sweet. This will without a doubt be the most brutal and diverse Impious album to date! It's fast, it's catchy, it's heavy and it is extremely intense! We can't wait for you guys to hear what we've created! During May we'll take our songs to the rehearsal room and jam out the last ideas and perfect our tunes before we start tracking June 1st!

The recording will take place in our very own Valle Adzic's Studio Deadline. This is the first album ever we'll produce and engineer by ourselves and we're pretty stoked about delivering this baby without any other people involved. This album will truly represent what the fuck Impious is all about!

We would also like to tell you that we've hired the awesome and wickedly talented artist Marcello Vasco to create one of the most sinister and malignant looking album covers ever! Marcello is extremely talented and we're absolutely positive that everyone will crap their pants when they see what Marcello has created for us!

We have some good ideas to what we want to call the album. We surely want it to represent the dark and merciless vibe of our new songs and we also need the album cover to fit with it as well. We have some pretty wicked ideas, but we won't reveal any of it quite yet.

So, it's happening.

Stay tuned."

Jorn - New Album Details

Frontiers Records press release

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of Jorn's brand new studio album, entitled "Spirit Black", on June 5th in Europe and July 14th in the USA.

Considered by many fans and critics as one of the finest voices in Hard Rock to arrive on the scene at the end of the 20th century, Jorn is now ready to unleash upon the world yet another studio album entitled Spirit Black.

"I have carried some of these ideas with me for quite some time" tells Lande, "Willy, Jimmy, Sid and myself have known each other since the 80's, and some of the song ideas and demos from back then have now seen the light of day, and become an essential part of Spirit Black. When we were younger we usually never cared about what we did yesterday, only about the future, but the past can sometimes reveal hidden treasures and I discovered great potential in some of these song-ideas".

The result: "Spirit Black" is another slab of classic Hard Rock with 80's Metal elements which will definitely please all those who loved his recent Lonely Are The Brave, released in June 2008. A winning formula should not change, so Jorn has worked again with Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark ensuring the right edge to the rich guitar and vocal sound that is now trademark to all Jorn releases.

"The fans can expect a solid and defined record that will shake the classic metal world and hammer the future Jorn legacy in stone" says Jorn. "The sound of the album is like a crossover between The Duke and Lonely Are The Brave, and I feel that some of the songs on "Spirit Black" have the potential to become essential Hard Rock classics that will stand the test of time".

Jorn Lande's strong and diverse voice and solid songwriting skills have now become legendary in the Hard Rock world. In a career spanning over 30 albums releases and as frontman for Millennium, Ark and Masterplan, Jorn was recently featured on spectacular projects such as Tobias Sammet's Avantasia, along with stars like Alice Cooper and Eric Singer (Kiss), Rudolph Schenker (Scorpions), Bob Catley (Magnum) and in Arjen Lucassen's recent concept album, "Ayreon".

"The musical style and direction is now more defined and less experimental. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel anymore, I just want to write good quality Hard Rock songs that people can relate to and identify with", continues the Norwegian Viking, "As we entered into the new millennium, I realized and accepted that my strength as a singer was more classic rock oriented. If you buy a Jorn album today, you know what you will get. True classic Hard Rock music".

Sonic Syndicate - Vocalist Leaves The Band

Sonic Syndicate have posted the following update:

"Sonic Syndicate regrets to announce that Roland Johansson has decided to leave Sonic Syndicate due to personal reasons beyond our control. The last two years have been more then amazing for us, we've seen half the world, meet so many great fans and made even more along the way. You guys are what keeps us alive and makes life exciting.

Yesterday, the five of us sat down and agreed that our search should not be limited to our inner circle. This is a very big opportunity for us and we want everyone out there to have a chance to spread the word and be a part of the search. Maybe it will be you, a friend or a friend of a friend who will be the next singer of Sonic Syndicate. If you feel you would like to be a part of the search, click here."

The Absence - Working On New Album

The Absence have issued the following update:

"As some of you know, we are writing for our third full-length album. It's been a bit of a slow going thing. We are trying to make a record that has a classic and timeless feel to it. Some of you may also know that "Riders Of The Plague" is going to be a hard album to top. We are doing whatever it takes to do just that. We have some ideas up our sleeves to involve you fans on this next record as well. The last time, we had many of our fans put their names in our CD insert. Keep your eyes open for something a whole lot cooler than that. The music is coming along. We will be posting video footage of the pre-production and the recording in the months to come."
