Primordial - More Album Details

Official Metal Blade press release:

Primordial are one of those bands that are strong enough to go through hard times and live to tell about it. After years of instability in concern of labels, confirmed and then cancelled tours and even band members Primordial are finally able to concentrate on what really matters. The second album for Metal Blade Records "To The Nameless Dead" (the sixth effort in total) is a timeless statement and an ode to their forefathers which lives and breathes the ancient spirit mixed with anger, pain and despair.

"'To The Nameless Dead' is defiantly at odds with a modern metal scene that often seems to place banality, mediocrity and safety above passion, honesty and truth." - A. A. Nemtheanga

Harsher and faster than its predecessor, "To The Nameless Dead" wasn't recorded digitally - just analog to keep the sound old school and powerful.

The album will also be available as limited first edition in a digibook featuring an alternative design, 40 pages and a bonus DVD of Primordial's performance at the Rock Hard Festival!

Primordial - New Album Details

Official press release, token from the Primordial website:

"So we are finally finished the recording of our sixth album. After a few rain sodden weeks locked up in Foel Studios in North Wales "To The Nameless Dead" is for all but mastering and final artwork completed.

This time far away from the chaos and negative influences of a big city the recording process was far smoother and more complete then we have ever known. We left at the end quietly satisfied as opposed to feeling like our nerves were shot and far more stressed then we began. Much of this we owe to Chris Fielding who engineered it and put many long hours into its creation and to Dave Anderson who has created something we can only call a "good vibe" in the middle of nowhere far from the meddling influence of civilisation?.immense thanks.

The sound is of course instantly recognisable as Primordial but more powerful then before, heavier and richer with a much more rounded sound then before. Whereas The Gathering Wilderness was a dark often impenetrably bleak work "To The Nameless Dead" has found the fire in its veins to defy, to rebel, to stand up and oppose all. This is a vast and epic album, more pounding and full of rage then Primordial has been for many a winter?

It is defiantly at odds with a modern metal scene that often seems to place banality, mediocrity and safety above passion, honesty and truth. It does not sound like a computer recorded it, it does not sound like a procession of riffs simply poached from metals founding fathers, it is not a mindless exercise in musical masturbation. This is Metal is it was meant to be played. With Passion?

We play music because we have to?this is in our veins. This is our culture, our history, our folklore, our heritage. We make no apologies, we will not compromise. And now with our sixth album "To The Nameless Dead" we are about to make our strongest statement yet?

Acta Non Verba
Ad Asperum Finem
Vae Victis

Therion - Looking For New Soprano

Taken from the band's official website:

"Therion had planned to use the same singers from the latest album also live, but unexpectedly, we are one soprano short. We're right now checking our contacts for a replacement, but thought we might surprise a bit and actually do like Nightwish did and let people we don't know also apply for the job.

So what's the deal?

If you get the job, you will be one out of 4 vocal soloists on stage and you will do all concerts on the upcoming Therion World Tour 2007.

Payment per show will be the same as a regular member of the band and you will travel, live and perform on the same terms as the rest of us.

If you're so damn good that we get stunned when we hear you, it doesn't matter where on the planet you live - we will fly you in for each tour and separate show. But of course it is a plus the closer you live to Stockholm.

Do you fit in with this?

? You have a soprano range and sing classical style. It is a plus if you can read notes, but a very good ear for picking out tones is enough as we will present you recordings of everything that will be sung.

? You are flexible and can also sing other types of voices than operatic.

? You have an exceptionally good intunation and a varm vibrato.

? You are able to be a part of a show with movements, we are not looking for a singer standing still, there will be quite some action on the stage this tour.

? You are laughing fear in its face and it's a piece of cake for you to perform in front of thousands of people.

? You are between 20 and 45 year old and have experience of singing live with a rock band before.

? You speak english, are easy to get along with and are willing to dedicate the entire year 2007 for Therion activities when they occour even with short notice.

If "yes" to all of the above. then mail us as fast as possible some good quality mp3's of you singing, some photo of you and a brief text explaining who you are etc.

Mail your application to singer@therionstore.com

Please do NOT send anything else than applications for singing with the band to this address. If you want to contact the band, then do it over the Therion Society."

Iron Maiden - Video For New Single Leaked

The video for Iron Maiden's upcoming single, 'The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg', has been leaked onto various sites after being aired 'exclusively' to Iron Maiden Fanclub members today (17th July) at 00:01. The video can be found at the following locations:

Windows Media Player - Higher Quality

Windows Media Player - Lower Quality

Real Player - Higher Quality

Real Player - Lower Quality

Iron Maiden's new single is expected to be released on the 14th August, although it will not be competing in the charts, due to the fact that the b-side is a recording of 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' recorded during the Radio 1 'Legends' Sessions, and the single is therefore too long to be charted.
