I saw few months ago in Rome, Italy, Europe GOTTHARD. It was the best live gig ever.
I arrived at the local and Steve Lee got out from the local to salute me and the other few presents for the concert of GOTTHARD and signed albums, posters, made pictures and spoke too much with the fans arriving massively.
that night was the best one ever. I'll remember it forever.
GOTTHARD missed in Rome since 2004 when the band did the best show ever. in that show of 2004 Steve Lee was ill with the fever but sang as best he can do.
reading this new is for me a bang on my heart.

Wow, what horrible news.
I never got to listen to Gotthard but I heard him on Ayreon's 01011001 album and I thought he was amazing. Definitely one of the best vocal performances on the album (his final line in "The Sixth Extinction" literally gave me chills the first time I heard it), and the album includes the likes of Hansi Kürsch, Daniel Gildenlöw, Tom Englund and Jørn Lande. That's a pretty talented bunch, and I thought he was right up there with them.

It was a semi trailer truck that killed him.
Apparently he was at the side of the road putting on a raincoat when a semi trailer jackknifed and hit the parked motorcycles toppling them over and falling on the Gotthard guy and killing him. |
