Decapitated - Full Album Preview Online

A trailer with previews of each track set to appear on Carnival Is Forever, the forthcoming album by Polish technical death metal band Decapitated, is now available for streaming in the clip below.

Carnival Is Forever will be released on July 12th in North America and July 15th in Europe through Nuclear Blast Records.

Carnival Is Forever, the follow-up to 2006's Organic Hallucinosis, was recorded at Radio Gdansk Studio in Poland with producer Wacek Kieltyka and engineer Malta Arkadiusz Malczewski. Drums were tracked with Daniel Bergstrand (Behemoth, Meshuggah, Dimmu Borgir, Keep Of Kalessin), who also handled mixing duties.

Founding member and guitar Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka comments: "Very intriguing and quite strange for a metal album but surely staying in memory. A vital thing is that it's a photo. We did not want any computer graphics this time or anything artificial or plastic. The same regards the production of the album. We had actually been thinking about getting a painting for the cover but unfortunately we couldn't do it. Maybe next time."

Carnival Is Forever tracklist:

01. The Knife
02. United
03. Carnival Is Forever
04. Homo Sum
05. 404
06. A View From A Hole
07. Pest
08. Silence

Well, turns out I was wrong. This isn't gonna be an awful album. Likely their weakest album, but decent still. Homo Sum wasn't good though, and 404 was to chuggy.

Well, all of their albums have been different from the previous one, and that's what they announced for this one too and even though the preview sounds a bit similar to organic hallucinosis, i still noticed a few differences. Personally i like a band evolving and changing their sound, because always hearing the same album over and over ain't that good

i expected that Vogg's riffs/solos on this one will be more influenced by Vader's music (out of the obvious reason i'm not in the mood to explain everything now xD) and even though the preview isn't showing us much from the album...i still think this will turn out to be true

the vocals...well i was afraid that it might be going towards a "core" direction...according to what we could hear in the preview, i'm relieved, it looks good so far (even though personally i like guttural vocals and my fav decapitated vocalist was Sauron, this still didn't sound as bad as i expected it to be)

so...personally, i think i'm gonna love it

Instruments sound sweet, but vocals seem more about yelling... me wants growlingz (it would totally fit the rest)

I think the vocals are the big problem for me. They are just plain boring. If you actually removed them, it would probably be better. Some of this stuff sounds awesome, but some kind of just sounds like nu metal or industrial metal. I think it is that chuggy guitar that seems to have that effect with the vocals. All in all though, it sounds pretty good for the most part.

At least View From a Hole sounds good. Getting a tad scared about this though.

I'm with you on that one... if it were a follow up to "Nihility", it would have been a triumphant return

I enjoyed the new sound. I was expecting this to be crap. Bringing in a new drummer on such a drum heavy subgenre can have devastating effects. I am pleasantly surprised and while I admit that it won't be their best album, I believe it will be a worthy addition to the Decapitated discography.

Hmm... not quite sure what to make of these snippets! :\ The solos do seem like they'll be a bit more "Vader-ish", and overall the sound seems different to anything Decapitated have done before. "The Knife" and "Pest" sound like they'll be awesome songs though. I also noticed that "Silence" didnt have a preview... Im definitely intrigued to hear the whole thing anyway!

Oh, and is that Slipknot's new member on the front cover? lol

The album cover is certainly different from their past stuff; I really like the album cover. I would expect this one to be musically diffrerent too, considering the changes in lineup. I don't think I'll listen to the samples, though, since I'm not into listening to samples or combinations thereof.
