French prog death outfit Gojira have been busy writing material for their new album, amongst other things.

The band checked in on their MySpace page: "A lot happened since our last message so we wanted to give you some news today and let you know we are still alive! We know you are all eagerly awaiting the Sea Sheperd EP release. We are sorry for the delay. Some of the material was on a hard drive that crashed but we are nearing the end of a long and difficult recovery process. Now the good news: the new album is ready!"

"All the music and lyrics are waiting to be recorded. Joe is already in NY to check out the Studio and make sure everything is sorted so we can begin to record next month. A new website is being built and we are working on ways to improve the communication between the band and our fans. You guys fucking rule! Thanks!"

I love Gojira's music, but I wish the Sea Shepherd EP would be lost when the hard drive crashed..

He's probably happy that Japan's brutal whalers have decided to go ahead with capturing several more animals near the Antarctic sometime in the next 15 months

BTW, are you a fan of South Park?
(not to say that its creators are affiliated with, or approve of, Goji, or vice versa)
DesolationJersey - 04.10.2011 at 22:10
Gojira just keep getting better and better, can't wait to hear this new album

First off, no. I'm not 'happy' that the Japanese whalers decided to do that, but I think SS and the Coves should stay out of their business.
I'm from the Faroe Islands, and basically everything that SS have said about FO is false, which means that they're probably lying just as bad about Japan.
Supporting an organization that has to lie in order to get followers is just ridiculous.

Second, yes I'm a fan of South Park and Whale Whores is a hilarious episode, but my dislike for SS is not based on that episode.
Though, they really nailed it there!

Cheers..

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the music on the SS EP will be awesome,
and looking forward to hearing their new album
