Guitar virtuoso Christopher Amott might have left Arch Enemy but he didn't stop making music. He has announced that his new solo album will be titled Impulses. The cover art has been revealed and can be viewed below even though a release date has not yet been set. This new album will be the follow-up to his debut solo studio album Follow Your Heart, which came out in 2010. More details should be released soon.

I didn't know he had a solo project

I have to check out 'Follow Your Heart' then.

What? I thought he quit to have more time with his family. But I guess solo projects would be much easier to handle with no stress than AE.

He did say he wanted to focus on his solo efforts.

I thought it was great news, because of his guitar performance in Arch Enemy and Armageddon (Three is awesome), but after listening to his first solo effort (Follow your heart), which was pretty boring, I have no "impulses" to listen to his second solo album

Don't expect metal from it. But it is a good rock record. Not a great one, just a good one, mind you.

Follow Your Heart is far from metal, it's a rock -new age vocal album. it's only a so so project with obscure vocal. I hope he can create a full instrumental album, whatever the style it would be interesting.
