We don't know how long it's been or if you have been keeping count but do you remember Virgin Black? The band that was supposed to release their third Requiem installment... Requiem - Pianissimo before they seemingly vanished off the face of the earth. Completely disappeared. Well, this will then come as good news to all their fans to know that the band is alive and is planning their long awaited return.

A short update was issued on their Facebook page a couple of hours ago: "Thank you so much all for your support! Virgin Black is still on an extended break but preparing themselves for a return at some stage, and the release of Pianissimo when that happens. Don't hold your breath, it might not be for some time yet, but thank you for your patience and continued enthusiasm for the band regardless. I know they really do appreciate it."

Great news from a great band

So they've escaped from the Bermuda Triangle? Or I was right about the contract thing and they gave in.

I have 2 theorys about this:
1. This album will complete the band's contract with The End Records. They want more money to renew said contract. The End want them on the same or less money. By indefinatly delaying the release of the album, Virgin Black are indefinatly tied to the existing record contract.
2. The lable lost the master tapes and won't admit it.

I can't believe this! I can't believe they are back! This is GREAT news!!!

Finally something close to an "official" statement I'll be waiting for it.
I really don't understand why the band members won't give any news and we only get words from the family member that runs the facebook page.

All they basically said is that they are still on this hiatus. This could last years! Those bastards!
Carrion Misery - 02.11.2012 at 18:00
I hope they at least have new material to release not too long after Pianissimo. Been anticipating forever for that release, and I know it'll be beautiful, but I want some new stuff! I'm not trying to ask for too much lol. After all, we've been waiting so damn long just to hear any news at all from them.

Its really good to hear they're alive, I thought they joined some suicidal pact or something...
Music4TheSpirit - 05.11.2012 at 19:23
Well i just hope they evolve from what they use to be in the early days

Finally some news! I was thinking about this the other day, whether they were EVER going to release the third album of Requiem or disband at all. But the band's website is still down like the last couple years.
