Jeff Loomis - To Record New Album With Keith Merrow

Former Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis will join forces with Portland musician Keith Merrow to record a new album.

Merrow commented: "Very excited to let you all know, Jeff Loomis and I have decided that we'll be doing an album together. We've been talking about it for a while, and it just seems right. So, we'll start writing some new music for that, soon. I'm extremely motivated by the thought of this, and I know that the chemistry between the music... all ideas we have will make for a truly amazing album. Be stoked. I'm stoked!

So, our 'jam' today was mostly about this collab, and also practicing for a performance at NAMM together. I know some of you were hoping for a new video, or a a bunch of pics... but, there will be plenty of that in the future. Count on it."

Jeff Loomis previously contributed with a guest guitar solo to Keith Merrow's instrumental album Awaken The Stone King, which came out in January 2011.

I wonder if this is going to be a Jeff Loomis album or are they actually going to come up with a "band name" for this collaboration...

Would be fucking killer if they actually formed a band around the 2 of them with a vocalist, although Idk what style of vocalist they would/should hire as I am struggling to hear Jeff with anybody other than Warrell and Keith has only performed with Gord.

Maybe they should try to hire Christian Alvestam so they've got both power and death metals covered...
