It turns out that the jester racers In Flames have more than just a comic book coming up. The writing sessions for the new album have begun and you can probably expect to hear it next year. The Swedish band is working on the follow-up to Sounds Of A Playground Fading (2011). What would you like to see the band try on the next album?

The band's upcoming series of comic books entitled The Jester's Curse shall see the official release of the first book Lunar Strain: Part 1 on August 21st.

A brief message from the band: "So the writing for the new album has begun. Excited?"

More songs like Deliver Us and A New Dawn and less songs like the rest of the album.

I hope it doesn't sound like SOAPF ... hopefully!

... That's a pretty good measure of the polar opposites of their last album...

Fingers crossed for something like Lunar Strain

seriously? how blind are you to ask something like that from this band nowadays? Their days of playing MDM are waaay over
silenius - 06.08.2013 at 20:44
Yaay more shit nobody with an ounce of sense will like.
Warman - 06.08.2013 at 23:11
Well, I would like to see them try the In Flames sound from the '90s. But I know that will never happen.
RottingDeathHead - 07.08.2013 at 00:15
I would be excited for this if only their last album wasn't such a disappointment

lol How harsh. Let the men have another go.

Answering that question realistically: I'd like them to take some elements from both Reroute To Remain and Soundtrack To Your Escape (this one in particular is underrated).

Don't get me wrong, I only started listening to In Flames with Soundtrack To Your Escape and stopped with (non)Sense of Purpose but I really like Sounds of a Playground Fading ! It sounds and plays good even tho it makes me think that the band is growing older, hence less aggressive. I really hope the next album will be good whatever direction they take !
Opethian - 07.08.2013 at 20:03
Absolutely no hopes whatsoever for this album .... PROVE ME WRONG BITCHES!!!!

A real great effort at bringing back some old elements of 'The Jester Race' and 'Whoracle', with two/three modern sounding songs in the album as well to give it a bit of a varied mix. Should think that will please the newer fans but most importantly not single out the fans of their first 5 CDs.

More like SOUNDS OF A PLAYGROUND FAIDING much more. In 2011 it was the only Metal Album that maked a diference.

Or just stop listening (if you don't like it).

Only news I'd like hear about them is "In Flames calls it quits and stops ruining their legacy (if it isn't ruined completely already)".

i think it"s more likely there"ll be news like "in flames tours with generic radio rock band" first

It's very well. But I don't know why do you explain me what do you like listening to. I said that it must be a really BIG love. It isn't ?
