Sjodogg - New Album Postponed

Norwegians Sjodogg released their latest album Ode To Obscurantism five years ago. However, there is a new album coming albeit not as soon as it was expected. According to the black metallers, there has been a slight delay in the release of their new album, Som en Øks i Hodet. They are in the process of making some minor adjustments to the sound production and remastering the album at the hands of Kjetil Ottersen.

From the press-release in March 2015:

"The idea for the album was inspired by the silent movie Nosferatu (1922). In particular, we wanted to capture the atmosphere of the film's distinct visual style - its grainy, gritty, flickery quality. Soundwise, we wanted to step off the well-trodden path, making this third effort an analogue recording session, with reference to late 80's thrash-metal gems Dimension Hatröss (Voivod) and Punishment For Decadence (Coroner)."

"Som en Øks i Hodet is a marriage between dark atmospheric riffs and groove-laden minimalist drumming, materialized in an organic and dynamic, yet time-worn and haggard production."
