Too much sneakiness to trademark bands lately

Wouldn't dislike something like the Demonaz project (he could take over vocals in Immortal?) but if it ends up as forgettable as the Abbath project, no thanks.... Well, at least there'd be two bands performing Immortal classics so that's good

I don't know what the band will sound like without Abbath, but the lyrical theme will definitely remain intact because it was after all Demonaz's concepts. All support to both Immortal and Abbath on their endeavors and I can't wait for Immortal to unveil their full line-up. MEOW!

Demoinaz solo is pretty good and this band has future. Abbat asked Satanists and BM some kind elitists join into band, never liked those bands what musicians asked Abbat, no artistic value, cheesy lyrics, Immortal , Emperor, Enslaved, lyrically stands out , so if Demonz keep write about winter, band has future

Good luck to them. They have a guitarist that can't play guitar anymore (not sure how you write things when you can't play anymore) and a drummer that doesn't write any music. Demonaz solo effort was pretty boring and bad. The new Abbath songs at least have some aggression. I'll take forgettable (as some have said about the new abbath stuff) fast brutal songs over slow snore inducing forgettable songs (demonaz solo effort) any day.

He's was still the lyricist after he couildn't play anymore. Only 1 song Immortal ever did (on an album) had lyrics by Abbath instead of Demonaz. They just have to make sure their new guitarist (or bassist, if they don't currently have one) writes music.
I'm hoping Demonaz doesn't take over vocals, as I didn't think much of him on his solo album.

I see many people do not credit Abbath as the main force in Immortal. Appart from being the guy behind most of the songwriting in the band and main instrumentist, he was the main recognizing force of the band. Everybody can write some half-assed lyrics, but not anyone can write good music.

Do I want to waste time reading a story that could come out of any people's magazine ? The answer is no.

Do I need to waste time posting a useless comment ? Guess the answer is yes.

Do music, we don't care so much about the rest. Private life has ro remain private imho.

Abbath is the frontman of Immortal and the icon behind that monicker. Without Demonaz and Horgh the band can survive, but without him, I think too much is gonna be missed and the best thing to do for now maybe is disband. Demonaz could continue his solo career too.

The point is that you listen to music, not reading a poem. The lyrics weren't intelligent anyway. I bet most people here care more for the musical quality and less for lyrics, unless we speak about a concept album, which frankly Immortal never did. And yeah, even I can come up with some decent lyrics on whatever topic if I focus. But coming up with music is totally different, not to mention good quality music. Not the lyrics made Immortal famous, but the goofy imagery and intense instrumentals. The lyrics are just a bonus that only hipsters care more about.

I'd wager that it takes just as much skill to write good poetry as it does to write good music, since both rely on a combination of creative thinking and an understanding of what generally works and what doesn't. Not that I can really back this assertion up.

Then they should focus on writing poems and ditch the music. Or write music and ditch the poem. Good music does not require lyrics of huge importance to the universe.

This is typical jealousy/inflated ego bullshit that has happened thousands of times over. The persona of Abbath has become bigger than "Immortal" the band. If Abbath was so lazy and unproductive then why is he already out playing shows and releasing new material. Demonaz writes the lyrics....aaaand that is necessitating rehearsals from the guys who actually are playing instruments? Also anybody that has ever had to be the vocalist knows that just because you write something doesn't mean it will be easily sung. It takes the reworking of whoever is singing to get their phrasing and timing just right to match the music and this means things get added/removed quite frequently. I know this from years of doing it. Sorry fellas your jealousy and inability to deal with the "Abbath IS Immortal crowd" has derailed a gravy train. While Abbath will be cashing in on err well.....Abbath!

I am pretty sure it won't be that difficult to keep the "Winter" theme going with Abbath either. Just takes some album artwork and song titles referring to "my freezing cold balls" or "Demons:(Start a fucking fire its Cold in this Castle)" , to go along with that easily identifiable croak and allah peanut butter sand-witches instant cold chilling more Immortal sounding than Immortal will have now.

Replacing Abbath will be difficult, but if they can find a guitarist who can write songs as well as play them they should be alright. Does anyone have an opinion on Apollyon picking up the vocal duties? He provides half the vocal duties for Aura Noir. He's still in Immortal, right?
