Doom metal act Avatarium have a new live bassist. While Leif Edling won't be able to tour with them, Anders Iwers who has been playing with them live for two years will not join the band now. They are bringing in bassist Mats Rydström for their upcoming shows.

Avatarium explained: "As you know Leif Edling has been unable to tour with us live and therefore we've been privileged to have Anders Iwers joining us on stage instead of Leif. Unfortunately there's been a hazel with logistics since we live in different cities and therefore we have to find a local replacement for Leif. The 2 years with Anders has been a great pleasure for us and we would like to thank him here and show our appreciation for his great work both on and off stage and hopefully this isn't the last time we play music together. Anders is at the moment touring with Dark Tranquillity and Tiamat so you will still be able to here his thundering bass with these bands.

"On the two upcoming shows in Greece we will have Mats Rydström playing bass with us. Mats is normally a steady member of Swedish 70's prog influenced band Abramis Brama and he has a great John Paul Jones vibe that really brings sparkle to our grove. We are very happy to have him joining us on stage and today's rehearsal was just amazing! Can't wait to play next weekend - see you there!"
