German metallers Xandria have issued the following update:

"Lisa Middelhauve is not the singer of Xandria anymore. After almost eight years of successful work together she decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. For some time now Lisa didn´t feel comfortable with her role as Xandria´s front woman anymore and wants to step aside to make it possible for the band to find someone who can stand behind Xandria completely. A step that we all regret, but is highly respected.
We want to thank her for the great, successful and unforgettable time we had together and wish her only the best for the future! Thank you - your contribution to Xandria and everything you did for the band we will never forget!"

The band adds:
"The musical journey of Xandria will go on of course, and also in the future there will be great things to expect - be surprised! At the moment we are searching for a new female singer and will be back on stage with new songs and live dates. Information for candidates for the singer position will be posted here in the next days."

Oh here we go..One more band that will change the vocalist, and become a new Nightwish or Tristania, or maybe even a new Sirenia (I have little or no hope for the new Sirenia singer)..Oh well, we shall see what happens, Im not putting my hopes high this time..

Hmmm, Lisa's voice is such an integral part of the band's sound...

I found her mediocre at best. So not much of a loss there.

Oh,no...Xandria is my favourite band!I'm going to miss Lisa so much... And I've never ever got the opportunity to see them live!

How could this happen to my favourite band?!

Yes, you are right, it's a strange that female fronted bands lose so much when they lose their singer. Lisa has a unique voice that I will miss very much from Xandria.

WHy and Why this thing happens ?? All my bands are gone forever . That last hope i have is in EPICA so pls SIMONE don't go away or my life will be

Some bands may have improved their sound when changed the singer (like Sirenia) but in most of cases it is the other way around (Nightwish)

I always thought about Xandria as a great band that still can't show their best... maybe this is a good opportunity for them.

LOL reading back on this news. The new album shits on the rest, and the female vocals are far superior.
