Nest is a two piece band from Finland that plays neo-folk/ambient music. Their music is based somewhat around the Kantele, the traditional Finnish instrument. Most of their music is quite dark...especially their second album.

They have two albums: Woodsmoke (2004) and Trail of the Unwary (2007). Both are excellent albums!

They also did a split with Agalloch (havent heard it).

One of my favorite bands and one of the bands to get me into neofolk. My favorite release by them is the split with Isafjord (aka Hidden Stream), but everything from them is good. I'm loving Trail of the Unwary. SO much more ambient than the previous stuff. Hunt is amazing!

Also, the split with Agalloch is no where near disappointing, so I advise you to check it out. The song Last Vestige of Old Joy is one of my favorite songs by them, and the Agalloch side is good too

Nest is brilliant indeed, I've liked them since I first listened to them and now I consider them one of my favorite bands. "Woodsmoke" is my favorite overall, but "Trail of the Unwary" is very good too. "Woodsmoke" is somehow more pleasant and full of character, while "Trail of the Unwary" is a lot darker and perhaps more "epic".

Also, if you haven't heard Nest's version of "The Gallant Crow" (by Skepticism), check it out. It's a really interesting interpretation of the original. The song can be listened to here.
