Christian Black Metal exists..The Meads of Asphodel are definitly not one of them. Anyway, I really like one album of them, named "Damascus Steel". Especially the track with a too long name is incredible. I also like the cover on this album. Great band

Nah, like Blackgir said, this band isn't chrisitan, but a good one besides this. I like that they experiment a lot, and this kind of music is always short in numbers.

Unblack metal is christian themed black metal. And for the record: only a few bm bands are satanic.

Let's keep this ontopic - The Meads Of Asphodel isn't Christian, so there's no point in discussing Christian Black Metal, Unblack Metal, White Power Hip Hop or any other such contradictory, nonsensical musical terms in this thread.

Great band though, one of the best in black metal if we want to consider them that. They probably lean more towards the trad/folk metal side of things these days. Looking forward to something new, although I still haven't heard Life Is Shit. I'm sure it's great if their Discharge covers are anything to go by. Lyrics are fun and generally imaginative, my favourite would have to be:

Older of Splendour/Bulgaria, I bought original tape when I was much younger, pure shit, but not cause it is Christian Metal but because it is one of the worst bands I heard, they have col female vocals, do not expect Nightwish though haha

Btw, Meads Of Asphodel is awesome, Exhuming the Grave of Joshua or something is great album, I like to listen to it sometimes, I like touch of indie and orient music in their BM or whatever it's called, it gives a better atmosphere than Hammerfall songs about crusades, Jihad is pure shit, third album I forgot the name, something with Christ, is also cool, beside that boring intro

honestly i don't know what the fuck was i thinking when i said that(as you see it was a loooong time ago)

Genius band. Incredibly unique and with some great experimentation with industrial/electro and a variety of middle eastern instrumentation and themes. Unusual and excellent vocals, difficult to classify but they convey the superb lyrics very well. They get more ecclectic wih each release. I love how so many people still don't see how brilliant and forward thinking they are, perhaps because they try to listen to them as a black metal band rather than an experimental one. Oh well, their loss.

Anyway yeah, theyre a pretty fun band. I prefer JD Tait's vocals to Metatron's.

Agreed with -tom- they are indeed terrible. Terribly inconsistent and doesn't flow at all. It seems that people that don't like black metal are actually the ones drooling over terrible bands such as The Meads Of Asphodel

I am not saying the music I like is cool or brilliant Just saying 90% of what some people here (like you) like is just atrocious
Btw cool music is usually the owrst kind. Cases in point being Euro Flower Power Metal and most Folk Metal which are both immensely cool to like nowaday but in the most cases are just sappy op drivel lacking any bit or even metal.
