I've noticed this guy has written some incredible ballady material back in the 70s. so i decided to make a poll on it.

my pick is Rainbow Eyes, the intro riff is timeless, all the flutes and other complementary instruments work like magic and Dio's voice sounds so extremely mellow and sad in it, after such thundering heavy metal tracks like Kill the King or The Shed where Dio shows his usual epic vocal side. also the song doesn't have any drums, which just makes it even more special.

Mago de Oz made a great cover of it in Spanish with just voice and piano(Es Hora de Marchar)

Rainbow- Temple of the King NO doubt about it becaise I love this son all time my fav Rainbow sonmg, realy awesome song and interesting , greta lyrics actualy I like only Rainbow whit Dio and all songs what you put here is great but my secend fav be When Blind Man Cries

yeah but the vocalist has to have some cool riff or something to build upon

But ewery self respected guitarist can play it even Gorgoroth or Mayhem , but not all vocalist can sing it

I personally would vote for Rainbow Eyes, extremely beautiful song. Catch The Rainbow and Temple of the King are awesome as well.

You forgot the great ballad Wasted Sunsets from the Perfect Strangers album and the catchy Love Conquers All from the Slaves and Masters album (the one with Turner).

Can't decide. I choose Deep Purple- Soldier of Fortune and Rainbow- Temple of the King.
