I think quite a few of those albums really deserve to be up there...

Top lists are obviously just opinions so it's hard to criticize too much...but there are some albums on this list that don't deserve to be on the top 1000 albums of the decade. Decibel is obviously suffering from all timers...they remembered some albums that were like 10 years old and some that just came out.

I will respond to one of the former comments and say that yes, they are totally justified in putting Brave New World that high. It was an incredibly progressive album...and their best since seventh son...

Decibel has too many American bands on there...which, I guess is understandable because it's an American magazine...but Terrorizer, www.metalreview.com, and myself will have better, more well-balanced list.

There is no such thing as a well-balanced list when it comes to a top-100 over the decade
Or even a better list.
And I think Terrorizer's list will be pretty similar to Decibel's.

I guess you're right...to some extent.
Terrorizer will probably have more British bands.

...but I think the more albums a person/magazine listens to, the more balanced their list will be. If decibel only does 40 reviews a month (the majority of those bands being american) for example, and terrorizer 60, then Terrorizer's list should be more balanced...but not necessarily. So, I guess you're right...but you know what I mean. Semantics...

Decibel reviews loads of albums, more than Terrorizer the last time I checked. Although decibel is American and Terrorizer is English I don't think the lists will vary much (maybe MIthras in the Terrorizer list cause they always hype that band) since their tastes are almost spot on similar.

Could be true...but I'm sure it varies. I know that Decibel reviews more American bands than Terrorizer.

I think Enslaved's Vertebrae will be #1 for Terrorizer.

Also not in mine, I don't like Converge to be honest. But somehow it is very popular with people that look down upon most metal and love all things alternative.

I grew up listening to hardcore along with metal (and many other genres) and I have never really met people with good taste in hardcore who like Converge. I will say their new album is 1000X better than Jane Doe, but nothing this band has ever done merits a top 100 of the decade. I wish they would at least say why. WWAAAK.

I find it extremely odd that based on the fact that this list was done by Decibel, and based on the other bands in the list, that there isn't a single Cattle Decapitation album in there.

Yeah, me too! Although I think that Their debut should be in Phantom Limb's place and that Terrifyer would be higher than Phantom Limb.
But yeah... ncie surprise!

I also really liked that dopethrone was there as well

The are of course a lot of stuff I don't agree... I mean... Clayman, wtf?

And also.. wtf with Neurosis man, Given to the rising should be in A Sun That Never Sets' place..

And guys-... please tell me why The Manical Vale isn't in the list!!!! ??!? For me that album was THE BEST CD... I'm just waiting until 1/1/11 so I can out loud that Esoteric - The Maniacal Vale is the best album of the last decade, period.

1/1/11? That means you're a year late.
The decade ends 31/12/2009
Or did your new century start at 1/1/2001?
