In what can only be described as a natural progression of one of the most highly regarded melodic death metal albums of the decade in Stone's Reach, Be'lakor have taken to the studio once more with the hopes of building on their already unrelenting momentum.

My problem with this album is because it's so DAMN long!

If you have problems with long albuns sure you don't enjoy many progressive bands...like Dream Theater or Rush or, i don't know...Opeth! ...They have huge exclusive songs! ...

I tried once to get into dream theater... Same thing, too... progressive. I only listened two or three Opeth songs, because one of my friends is a big fan. I remember that "blackwater park" sounded good, but I haven't listened the whole album.

I truly recomend Blackwater Park...that's a true epic explosive album! Give it a shot and tell me what you think! ...

Gonna listen to Towards the Megalith by DIsma now to "wash" my ears with some real morbid death metal.

Wow, I wish I had as good a taste in music as you.

I just died

The patch 1.04 is about to come in the following days, it is said that there will be many changes about the legendary items. Good news for the Barbarian that his skills will be strengthened. While so many ranged profession has bursted and formed their fixed strategies to take down their enemies, the Barbarian is always disappointing their players. To fix this issue and bring the balance of these professions back, changes will be made to the Barbarians. Why not get some diablo 3 items to be the most awesome Barbarian?

No way this is the best of 2012. Its great like in the top 20 area maybe but nothing real special here. Love the random riffs that pop in and out between slower parts though.

Dropped my rating to a solid 9, purely because it doesn't have the legs to be a high 9 (rounded to 10) from me. The songs have staled up just a tad, I've decided Stone's Reach is the superior of the two.

I really found Insomnium last outing boring as fuck. But gonna give this a try anyway.

"We have certainly heard of them [Insomnium] now, because as you said, there have been many comparisons drawn. We can see that there are a few things that the two bands have in common ? both play melodic death metal, and both have an interest in writing sad or more mournful riffs. Beyond that, however, we believe that each band clearly has their own things to offer, and many fairly substantial differences. There are riffs in each band's music that simply would not appear [stylistically] in the other band's songs. From what we can gather, fans of the two bands can see these differences quite clearly. Our take is that many of the comparisons are being drawn by people who have only given each band a cursory listen, or by people for whom 'melodic death metal' is all lumped into one big category." -Steven Merry (9/2012)

Well, it would take an idiot of a metal fan to say they dont sound the same....but then again Insomnium sounds similar to In Flames as well...which of course isnt all that far off from Children of Bodom and being power metal isnt that far off from sounding like Helloween which was, in some people's opinion, just a sped-up version of iron maiden. We all know maiden was origianally (whether they like to admit it or not) very inspired by the punk sound of the 70's.

So Be'lakor is punk

so.......

Still dont understand all the rage over this album. Its immensely boring and unoriginal. Listened to it again today to see if it clicks with me better after I took a break from it - within about 25 minutes I realised I havent listened for the last 20 minutes and I stopped it. It just doesnt capture my attention at ALL - really mindboggling how this is the top album of the year.

I guess its just something I wont ever understand, its like it used to be with Eluveitie. Zero interesting yet people throw their panties at it. 6/10 now.

Well he's never given a single rating under 6, so that might explain it.

I realise it's a good rating in comparison, but then again most bands' efforts are worthless.

I rate albums in comparison. 10 not being perfect, but an album that I can listen to repetitively with no complaint.

In addition I don't bother rating albums that are lower than a 6 because the first song puts me off so much it's impossible to give it a fair rating.
