The following piece of news was posted on the Earache Records' Facebook page:
"We've just heard that David Gold of Woods Of Ypres passed away last night in an accident near Barrie, ON, Canada. From all of us at Earache our deepest sympathies to your family, bandmates and friends. We are all devastated, such a terrible waste of talent. R.I.P. David."

I know there's been a lot of deaths recently, but shit, this one just feels closer to home. Met the guy a couple times, seemed like a solid dude. The last show I went to with these guys was them headlining in a pretty empty club, it was one of those "intimate" sort of shows. This is the first time I've been actually legitimately impacted by a musicians death since Dio, this one probably more so. RIP.

I was just waiting to hear woods 5 and hoping that it will help them solidify their within metal scene, since they are [mainly him, David] very underrated ,,, but David death came in very shocking and unpredictable way .. RIP DAVID , u will always be remembered
