For their new album Leprous have dedicated themselves to the studio with a purpose. It's a guarantee that they can create something fresh as they move into artistic routes unexplored and Coal is no exception to this in its emphasis on a particular mood. Here they seem cool, calm and collected as they attempt to project a particular atmosphere into their music. They go about this darker melancholic direction with a certain uncharacteristic seriousness. Mind you the result still sounds like a Leprous album but it isn't another Bilateral which was of a very eclectic nature.

A band you can rely on to deliver the goods each time, in a convincing and fresh way. 'Scuse me while I kiss the va-a-a-a-aalley, this valley I'm in.

Rein Blomquist (bass) is missing in the press release, when asked in their Facebook page (on multiple occasions) they seem to ignore it.

Rein is not officially out of the band, he's simply missing from the latest promo pictures for a reason that's not given.

strange.. but that's good to hear. his dark, funkalicious bass lines are one of my favorite aspects of Leprous haha.

All critics and skeptics could go home. Boring? Unless your taste is boring, this is nothing near boring. Very dark, complex and atmospsheric. I just love the harmonies between instruments and vocals, and the melodies it creates. Very different than earlier releases, but still very creative and impressive.

Ihsahn in "Chronic" and "Contaminate Me". Also, there's not a song called "Bury" on the standard edition.

So, I liked the previous one, but people are saying this one is more atmospheric and dark, I'm very curious about that

Very weird album, getting better and more addicting with each listen.. at first I was making comparisons to Bilateral in my head, but now it's like "welcome to the new page, get the fuck out of your old suit" and I am wildly on a repeat tide

Fuck fuck fuck, I love this. Only problem I noticed is some sections go on longer than I'd like to.
That drumming man, I predict this guy Tobias will be quite a name in the years to come.

Better than I had expected! Admittedly I wasn't invested in Bilateral that much; I like this better than that album, but of course it pales in comparison to Tall Poppy Syndrome.

The prime example of en excellent album ruined by terrible vocal. I really like the vox when the guy is really SINGING but the "Ah Ah Ahaha Aahhaha ahahhha haHA ah ah " is extremely and ridiculously overused. Moreover, "contaminate me" contains exaggerated vocal work The song writing and music is excellent. I especially liked the salt
