I thought about making this poll a long time ago, but I hesitated because I can't make up my mind. The debuts from Megadeth and Metallica are really good, but I'm especially fond of the first albums of Anthrax and Slayer. Fistful of Metal is one my favorite albums from them because it's extemely fast, catchy, and energetic, with great songs such as Deathrider and Metal Thrashing Mad. The riffs and solos are great, the drumming is fast, the vocals are insane, and the bass lines are awesome. However, Slayer's Shown No Mercy is also an amazing album... maybe my second favorite from them. All the songs are very catchy and inspired, with amazing riffs and solos. The drumming is a little bland, but the guitar work makes up for any downfalls. uuuuuhhhh... I think I'll vote for Slayer.

I think the best debut is Kill Em All, no question.
Killing is my Business and Show No Mercy were influential, but Kill Em All is the best overall.

I have to say Kill 'Em All is my favourite, it's a very different style to anything Metallica pull out after, making this album so unique, Show No Mercy is not that different to Reign In Blood, and I prefer this last one.

Kill'em all, although Metallica are my least favourite band of the list... the other bands became greater later, while Metallica's debut was also their best album.

Kill 'em All was hard to beat as far as debuts go, and as far as raw power, youthful energy, and technical skill goes, these guys had what it took from a very young age. But Show No Mercy had as much power and energy, just not the overall solidity of Metallica's beast of a debut. Mechanix is kicking the crap out of The Four Horsemen though...

Every single one is a must for any thrash metal collection to be complete.

I voted Show No Mercy because I believe it is possibly Slayer's best release, while the other bands would eventually release material I believe to be superior to their debut.

How does Anthrax choke? Fistful of Metal has more guitar solos than any other album in the poll.

they dont.
i just like to joke around about anthrax.
i havent really heard them that much so i cant say shit about them.
i really do pick kill 'em all though just because metallica is my favorite band and i personally like that album the best.
all four bands are sick though.

I'm gonna go with Kill em all becuase i believe it was one of metallicas best albums and because they really had a great sound when they were young. I think its ashamed that they didnt hold true to it for very long i feel that metallica went from a great metal band to a mainstream rock band and then they went to what they are now which is like nu thrash or something. Sometimes i feel like they are just disgracing theyre own name nowdays the more they continue to release.

Kill em all is winning by far... but i prefer ''Show no mercy''. Slayer is one of my fav bands and this album is special to me. Great songs like Die by the Sword and ''The anti-christ'', nostalgic...

Too bad for Anthrax

WAIT? WHAT??? I haven't replied here? WTF? Am I retarded? I double-checked every page... but I'm nowhere to be found. I think... or am I retarded? But of course I consider "Kill 'em All" to be the best. It was the first really raw and "true" Thrash Metal album I heard. I think I only had listened to Metallica's post-"Metallica" albums when i picked up "Kill 'em All". At first I was really surprised by Hetfield's young voice and then the agressive music blasting out of the headphones. I loved it straight away.

@ Warman. You know you can just search your name in the box at the top right ob the topic. right above the results to see if you've ever posted anything in the forum. Didn't know it for a while myself. (The More You Know)

I'm just gonna say SHOW NO MERRCY because I'm a fan of Slayer.
I liked Kill Em' All when I was younger but now just can't stand the sound of any era of Metallica. Megadeth are good but Their Debut was only average in my view. I never gave Anthrax that much of a listen ever maybe I made a mistake but its never too late.

Kill 'em all. Seek and destroy was the best song on any of the 4 albums so point metallica.

It is very difficult to decide.

IMO the weaker will be Metallica's. It has never been one of my favourite ones, not even before the "Loads". The only tracks I really like from their debut are "Phamton Lord" or "Motorbreath". They are amazing for me. I Choose'em All but Kill'em All.

Then, there are some songs that I don,t like very much in "Killing is my business", so the choose will be "Show no Mercy" or "Fistful of Metal". But, taking into account the influence of the album in the development of metal...I will do as the person who started the post....SLAYER.

P.S. I am watching the votes and Anthrax debut has very few votes. Give it a listen. It is really astonishing.

That's also my idea. Whiplash and Jump In The Fire are 2 other "big" ones.
Show No Mercy comes close with The Antichrist and Die By The Sword.

Testament should be and deserve to be included in this list, because if they were 'The Legacy' would win hands down for me. But since they are not included then my vote will have to got too Kill 'em All. It was the best produced, the best written, and the most addictive of all of the albums listed.

I voted for Slayer's Show No Mercy because it transports so much energy and Slayer still is one of THE Thrash bands for me. Although I like Kill 'em all and Fistful of Metal as well, so it was quite hard to chose one...^^
However I still think Kill 'em all is the best MEtallica Album ever (although Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are ´killer as well...)
