Well Im building up my Techinical Death Metal collection and im wondering what bands and albums should be needed in this collection, and thought that a thread needs to be made for recommendations on this. Im a fan of Psycroptic, Suffocation, and Cryptopsy.

Any list albums that should be inclued in the collection, bands and/or albums.

EDIT: Now we've got a lot of Tech DM bands added, make sure you go through and check if the band has been added or not, saves a bunch of repeats. Also lets get a little discussion about some of the bands.

uuhhh, not really. Vile is a good brutal death metal band, but they're not really technical as say...Necrophagist or Atheist.

Hmm, you say Vile's more Brutal than Technical? Hell still sounds good to me!

Too many fail.
Sleep terror has been reinforced with a vocalist :/
http://www.myspace.com/sleepterror
Go there to hear re-recordings of vague sentiments unveil and Ginsu frenzy.
So what do you think, was this a good move for luke to make? I always found the fact that sleep terror was instrumental kind of appealing. and to be honest i dont exactly love the guys vocal style any how it should be interesting to read the lyrics to songs like somnabulistic pedofile and diurnal enuresis : D as the song titles alone are rather amusing...

Here is my actual theory beyond the huge, hilarious jokes I have: If you're so pro-life and you're so pro-child, then adopt one that's already here, that's very unwanted and very alone and needs someone to take care of it.

Gonna see Necrophagist with Dying Fetus and Cannibal Corpse on Saturday, I wouldn't consider Cannibal as Tech DM but Necro and Dying defiantly qualify as Tech DM. O and theres some other band called Unmerciful opening I don't know what they sound like or if there any good. If you've heard of them and know if their any good then let me know.
Hail Dying Fetus

I don't think Monstrosity is tech death metal, however In dark purity is a must have

Pestilence are amongst the oldest tech death metal bands, sadly the band ceased to exist in 1993 or 1994.
Two more: Sadus and Pessimist.

listen to brutal and the true death metal

Another great band worth mentioning is Mephistopheles from Australia (my home town ). They put in jazzy break downs into their music which is heaps catchy.

Well worth recommending the young lads of Mephistopheles...

Do you guys think that Trauma can be considered tech death? I was listening to Imperfect Like a God the other day for the millionth time and I just noticed how technical it is. The only straightforward track that I can remember is the title track. The songs feature many time changes, stop and go playing, and always-changing riffs and drums. Also, on the 4th track, there is even some jazzy bass lines.
