Typical album masterpiece , this band is great .. music comes from the heart and I am not bored

Great album, great sound. But for me sometimes to much piano stuff.

Ridiculously good album, Like K7 said, this is passionate music, heavy layering and ambience create a great atmosphere that doesn't get too crowded.

What a gem of an album.... they captured the Nordic atmosphere perfectly. Easily in my Top 5 albums of 2014.

our dialects are very different. and yes, I listened and loved it. it's as good as cats, that's a legit comparison, I guess, coming from an egyptian.

my understanding of both is equally bad . how did you like it? not sure if post-metal/rock is your thing

i find it to be a step up. Itg is clearly Solstafir yet there is also a difference.

Excellent music, really like how each song builds up and still gets interesting. One of my 2014 favorites so far.

Not that familiar with post-metal, but this is some nice stuff for sure... sounds very original (to me). Going to spin it a few times more to find out whether I'll keep liking it as much as I did after one spin.

I am not sure why this is considered post...

First three tracks where nice and fresh. But I didn;t enjoy that much the rest of the album, it was not of my taste.

Haven't heard this one but I've never considered this band post-metal at all.

Damn. This was boring. "Til Valhallar" was the only track I found mildly amusing and which didn't made me want to skip ahead.

The problem arises when regular uses get enough points to acquire the genre editing permission. I'm fairly sure I know who changed this to post-metal as it happened shortly after he gained said perms, and he also brought up the idea of Solstafir being post-metal in a thread a long time ago (and it was decided that it wouldn't be changed at the time).

Regardless, I gave it a bit of a new look that might better reflect their sound. Still not sure if it's entirely accurate though, it's been way too long since I've listened to anything that isn't their new album.

I would say that this is more Post-Rock then Post-Metal

This band are very much post-metal, increasingly so over the past few albums. I think its debatable whether this particular album has them straying outside metal for the most part. Personally I'd say it retains enough of a metal tone to be considered as post-metal, as opposed to post-rock. Though the latter definitely has more of an influence here than it ever has in the band's music.
