Whyzdom - Releasing New Album Next Year

Symphonic metallers Whyzdom have some news for their fans about their next album. Their first album with new singer Marie Rouyer will be called Symphony For A Hopeless God. Furthermore, the record was produced by Vynce Leff, recorded, mixed and mastered in Paris at Powermania Studio, assisted by Mathieu Gillon (120dB Studio). The album will be available starting from February 17th, 2015 via Scarlet Records. Get ready!

Their label described the album as such: "After two successful albums relying on the power of Symphonic Orchestra and Metal riffing, as well as on the beauty of female voices, they push their own 'Philharmonic Metal' concept one step further, adding an even more cinematic edge to their songs. Orchestra has never been so powerful. Choirs have never been so haunting. Riffs have never been so compelling. And vocals have never been so intense, ranging from pure and fragile melodies to harsh growls, all provided by mezzo-soprano Marie Rouyer. Symphony For A Hopeless God depicts the constant need of humans to rely on the irrational to guide their life, and to give up their own freedom of thought, speech and action on behalf of what we know as 'religion'. Slaughters, genocides, ethnic cleansings, have too often been committed in the name of religion. What would God think of that if he really existed? This is exactly what this album is all about."

Are you excited about the new album?

Don't worry, it's not religion bashing. It's - hopefully - more subtile than that. It's more reflexion about religion and god. Religion is part of History and Mankind. Especially in the troubled times we are living, it's worth having a thought about our relation to God... and indeed about what men sometimes accomplish in the name of a God - And that's particularly the subject of the song "Tears of A Hopeless God" (2nd track).

I don't think that even a strong believer could feel any disrespect in any of the songs - it's definitely not Black Metal.

By the way, I sometimes find funny that people think that we're satanic just because we have a song called "Dancing With Lucifer"... Don't they have heard of Goethe's Faust ?

Thanks for the post Vynce, and the additional information on the subject matters of the new album. As a big fan of contemplative lyrics, I'll be interested to see how it's developed in the album. Looking forward to it

Hi Jason, I wouldn't say it's contemplative - but definitely always respectful.

I think there will be an in-depth review by Sonic Cathedral online. One of the 2 reviewers will probably focus on lyrics, since they're very important for him.
