As a doom metal fan, I started recently to listen to the stoner/traditional doom subgenre with female vocalists a.k.a 'witch metal' like Witch Mountain, Mount Salem, Alunah, Avatarium, Blood Cerimony, Black Moth...

Some examples:

or

Do you guys know more awesome bands which play in this subgenre?

"Ashes You Leave, Ava Inferni, Madder Mortem, The 3th and the mortel, Theatre of Tragedy (OLD)" - I know but they are from the other type of doom (that is the depressing one, Im now into the psychedelic one)

Thanks going to try all of them.

Totenlieder
The Oath
Royal Thunder
Black Moth
Sabbathian, I think that's how its spelled.

Blues Pills
Spiders
These two not necessarily heavy metal but definitely old school stoner stuff.

Jucifer has some stonery tunes on their earlier albums like If Thine Enemy Hunger or L'autrichienne.

Windhand! Definitely in the psychedelic camp.

Rituals Of The Oak - not psychedelic but great doom with a woman at the mic

SubRosa - Mentioned already but I have to give my +1. One of my favorites.

Evoke Thy Lords - Mostly instrumental actually, but the flutist is a woman who also sings a bit. Very unique band.

Kylesa - Sludge but worth a mention in case you're not already on to them. Aaaaawesome.

Witch Metal?

Do we now need to have genres based on gender of singers?

Lol that its is not to be taken seriously, its more like a thematic alias like 'pirate metal', 'viking metal'. Most of those bands like to sing about witches, the occult and stuff and just happen to have a female singer cuz witches are women. I did not made the term up.

Im not an expert but doesn't 'epic doom metal' just differ from 'trad doom metal' cuz of the vocals?

Also msuically it is quite different. Just compare trad doom bands such as Saint Vitus and old Trouble musically to epic doom bands such as Candlemass and Soilutde Aeturnus and you'll clearly hear the difference.

Because of Kanye we now all know Christian Mistress:

Not sure if they're really doomy enough, but they've got some doom in there.

I'll give another +1 to SubRosa.
