Great Death Metal band to start the Death Metal genre, amazing to listen to, and their still amazing to listen to, my favorite songs by them are Day Of Suffering, Immortal Rites, Lord Of All Fevers and Plague, and Suffocation, and the best album is Alters of Madness for sure.

I LOVE THEM! I got their shirt 3-4 months ago... and the sad thing is they came to Canada and I didn't even know it until the day passed. I was so angry. I haven't seen them live but i'm sure they put on a hell of a show.. .

The legends, pioneers...whatever. They're amazing and you know it. One of my "Top 5" at the moment. Though most say that "Blessed Are The Sick" is their best album, I have to disagree. I gotta go with "Covenant". Fast, agressive and catchy.

For many people the best death metal band in the world.I loved Altar of Madness,Blessed are The Sick and Covenant.I hope that they will release soon a new album.

Morbid Angel are a very original band.I remeber when I first bought Altars of Madness I was listening to it several times a day because I was so amazed by the lyrics and the music.They still remain one of my favorite Death metal bands,too bad I couldn't see them live this year =(

i'm not sure about which is their best album, but which i like the most and got me into death metal is Gateways to Anhilation. i remember that i used to listen by that time stuff like hammerfall and rhapsody (which i like it, don't misunderstood me) but then i got this album by a recomendation of my cousin and i could apreciate all the skills by Sandoval. after the first listened i thought: how many legs does this drummer have? and then i started to listen their old stuff

Morbid Angel is one of my farve death metal band. Domination is my farve album, looking forward to see them for the theird time at Wacken!

I've never heard it. Is it good? Can you buy it or is it out of print or something?

I recently brought it from my Local music store.... It has a version of Chapel of Ghouls on it.... Yeh, All in all it is a great album... Reccomended...

I'll have to check it out then. Have you ever heard the compilation they did, composed of like 20-30 second guitar by Trey? I think it was called "Love of Lava".

I like all of Morbid Angel's albums, but Blessed Are The Sick is their masterpiece IMO - it's one of my favourite albums of all time. It has such a wide range of approaches and moods - from speed to crawling morbid sloth-paced stuff, groove, catchiness, darkness, practically everything you could want from Death Metal. There are even some sublime instrumental tracks, especially Desolate Ways, which meTalcoholic mentioned - an atmospheric, haunting, delicate acoustic guitar piece.

Abominations Of Desolation is also of course great (did you get it from Music Zone in town, __Az__? Not surprising, they've got some killer old school stuff in stock at the moment, quite cheap too - it reminds me of being back in the early 90's when I browse through there, seeing early albums from Cathedral, Burzum, Entombed etc...) It's interesting to hear the early versions of certain songs which showed up on later albums.

I was actually listening to 'Blessed Are The Sick' earlier today. Their sound can only be described as...morbid. They're a great death metal band and I'm hoping to see them live in August when they play here in London.

Blessed Are the Sick is indeed a masterpiece, but as Domination was the first album I listened to, it has a special place... as well as some great tracks
And I just adore Maze of Torment and Lord of All Fevers and Plague.

Also Covenant is great with a bit more rock going on, especially in the quirky yet wonderful Angel of Disease, and God of Emptiness is massive and brilliant.

And, like Richard, I have no quarrel with the Tucker-era albums either. While different, they still have that MA sound and some great tracks, like the insane Opening of the Gates on Gateways.

Morbid Angel, what shall I say. This is actually the first metal band I really liked. I have always considered Iron Maiden to be my first metal band ... but if I think ... I listened to Morbid Angel before them. My teacher in sixth grade listened to Morbid Angel and he lend me all of their albums cause I really liked their instrumental songs which he played for me. I listened to some songs and liked it.
Today I listen to "Altars of Madness" a lot, very good!

I am currently listening to them right now, so I thought I would post. What can be said? Morbid Angel is both classic and consistent. I haven't really listened to 'Heretic' enough to have a good judgement, but the rest of the albums I like quite a bit. It seems I somewhat like the newer albums a tad more, I think 'Gateways to Annihilation' and 'Covanent' are my two favorite. Their latest stuff sounds a bit like Behemoth, so that might be why. Also I think their later material had some really great songwriting also.

Woo I saw them live last year lol, that was one of my last death metal concerts before I gave up the righteous dark paths of death metal lol

i only heard the album Heretic, but that one just bored me,
is it their worst album or something like that or is it simialar to their other albums?

The first 3 Morbid Angel albums are incredible. My only issue with "Covenant" is the appearance of the AoD song "Angel of Disease", which is an excellent song doesn't really fit the album. "Blessed are the Sick" is truly a death metal masterpiece.
