Fragile Vastness is a band from Greece basically formed by Vangelis Yalamas, who was the owner of Fragile Studios in Athens.. Anyway! That band plays a mix of progressive metal, surrounded by samples, ethnic and new age passages and also many sound colours that gives evidence for the Medittaranean roots of Fragile Vasteness.. They have released two alboums. Their debut was "Excerpts" and then they released their second double cd called "A tribute to life", where Joey Vera and Ray Alder (from Fates Warning) participated.. Personally, I think that this double alboum is such deep that can travel you though many places of the whole world! So, is there anyone here who knows Fragile Vastness? If you do, please share your views with me!

Such a shame that no one here knows Fragile Vastness... They are really good! And now they are working on their upcoming alboum! I hope it will be released soon...

And for the history, Ray Alder and Joey Vera played in Fragile Vastness's alboum because they were producing their dvd in Yalamas' Fragile studio and he asked them to help him.. That is how Alder and Vera participated in the "Tribute to life" alboum!!!

I've listened to the stuff on MySpace and some of it is really good. I like 'Somewhere' and especially 'Love And Loss'. I'm not a big fan of the other two tracks...but an interesting band for sure

If I remember well, love and loss is the track where Ray Alder sings.. Also, one of the other tracks was from their first alboum "Excerpts", which I personally don't like that much..

I really dont know!!! Try out! The guys are too cool! Especially the drummer: Mpampis Tsolakis... He is really funny! Also, Vaggelis Yalamas participated in Duncan Patterson's last alboum: ION - madre protegenos...

I like this band, even though I'm not a big fan of prog., they really caught my attention with "Somewhere". Now I'm looking forward their next album...

If they sound like Fates Warning, then I better check them out. Fates Warning is in my opinion the greatest progressive metal band of all time, so I hope i really like these guys.

I bought a tribute to life, and fuck is it amazing. I'd take a band like this over Dream Theater anyday...

Got the tribute to life album as well...amazing stuff and as MaidenVarius I'll choose these guys over DT

I've been listening to A Tribute to Life so much lately and damn I can't get enough of it. I absoultely love it. These guys are moving up on my list of great progressive metal bands.

These guys are just so good...I'm really enjoying their music no matter when it pops up in my player...not like DT where I have to be in the mood

Did you finally like Fragile Vastness?? You didnt tell us your view!

We have done our album with Vangelis Yalamas and we heard songs from their new album that was never released. They were so imaginable and wonderful. more than a tribute to life (if u can imagine that!)
