i know a few of you are into swords and stuff (and if there aren't. you guys need to read the rules of power and black metal more closely). i was just wondering what your favorite kinds to wield are. and what kinds you have. i really like long swords, baton swords (think the Hellboy movie) and the sickle (obviously). the next sword i plan on getting is a replica of the sword in the PS2 game Shinobi, akijiku.

The only thing I have to do with swords is Martial arts: Aikido
On saturdays I practise with swords, not real swords but an imitation from real ones, and that is really interesting

in terms of cutlery i have a replica of the sword of Charlemagne, a plain broadsword, a replica of the sword from heavy metal 2000, 2 sais, a pair of brass knuckles (that used to have wolverine claws on them, but i snapped them off because they were stupid), a ton of shirukens, and a few butterfly knives, and i bought a scythe as of last week. so fuckin awesome.
Had to grow a few extra arms to show off my shit

and the beast.

Edit : sorry the pics are so big haha

I was in kendo for some time, but I left it and now I am going to school of medieval sword art, or whatever is its name. I would like to go to school for wo handed swords but there is nothing similar in my home town

Well, this is maybe offtopic, but...
You have wooden shield, and practise sword, firstly it is wooden, and later from some metal, but is is not sharp. You have opponent which is at least three time stronger, skillfull and experienced than you. SO when he hits you, it hurts as hell. WE don't have chargings, or nothing similar But you gave me idea

Hey, is there anyone with expirience with bows, or crossbows?? I've tryed bow, and I can tell you even more interesting than hunting guns and rifles... But my biggest wish is good powerfull crossbow! I've never tryied one, but I'd like soo much... And decent quality crossbows are ussualy more expensive even than some hunting guns... I would try to build my own, but i dont have the materials..... Crossbow rules!

On SPC man, just ask for medieval seordsmanship, or ask for Dejan Mitrovic. Sometimes we have trainings on telep, and in the last time it is more often, I doubt we will move there. But it is still on SPC

I never tried crossbow, but I really want to though....I love bow and arrow though, I consider myself to be good...my dad bought a bow set when I was younger and I used to practice non stop, its like riding a bycycle, once you learn you cant forget...or at least thats how I make it out to be!

It isnt so hard... when you're not under pressure.... And always your first goal is not to kill someone you dont want to kill, and than second to hit / kill the target.... If you keep that on mind, everything is ok... But accidents happen.... My father got bullet in his head in hunting.... Not nice at all.

lol charges that would be too damn dangerous.. i wish there were similar schools in Bucharest too(though i saw a flyer for a kendo school)

i recently wanted to buy a katana(blunt) to practice at home with and stuff, but i had to give it up since it was from a gift shop and would probably break immediately as it hit something harder than human flesh lol j/k

what would be the price barrier which would mean any sword below say 50 euros wouldn't be good for sparring?

Well, I did.. earlier in the Balkans thread haha. Well those are just bayonets, I have more knives and.. not so cold weapons hahaha, but shot only pic of the bayonets since they are my fav.
Ok, the first one is Austro-Hungarian from WW1, the scabbard isnt his original, 2nd and 3rd slightly different versions from serbian rifle m48 (variant of mauser k98) and the fourth is standard AK-47 bayonet

I've fenced saber for about 3-4 years

I haven't had the money to do it lately, however.

Personally, I would love to take some longsword classes though cause its much more my style! I'm more about power and technique, and less about speed.

swords(real ones, like you see in movies like 300 or Gladiator) are almost nothing like the stuff used for sabers and kendo. fencing= poking each other with a REALLY long needle, and kendo= blunt wooden staffs which vaguely resemble swords. now a REAL sword fighting course would be awesome, first with wooden stuff, then with blunt metal swords, you know, Kill Bill, samurai movies... that kinda shit.
