Disavowed are an excellent Brutal Death band from The Netherlands. I have both their full length releases, Perceptive Deception (2001) and Stagnated Existence (2007) and can definalty say that these guys are up there. I was under the impression that the band had broken up because of the long time between albums but was very suprised when I saw the new album on the shelf.

Stagnated Existence has a bit more technicality thrown in with a more polished off sound in the production, where as their debut, Perceptive Deception, was more focused on being full on brutal with fast riffs, blast beats and indecipherable gutterals. Both albums kick arse!!

Swear I created a thread about Disavowed before but strangly couldnt find it with the search. Here it is (again) then.

These guys are pretty good. I downloaded their EP from their website, which contains three songs from Perceptive Deception. It is solid, although I prefer Pyaemia. I was unaware that they released a new album, though.

Really? Oh cool, didnt know of this. I'll have to check it out tomorrow then and edit the opening topic to inclued it. Try out their new album, you'll get more from them than just their first demo.

I own Perceptive Deception, but I had no idea that they released an album this year. I should pick it up sometime, and hopefully it'll make up for this shitty year of music.

This band reminds me a little bit of the American Disgorge. They're brutal and skilled, but I get bored of them after a while. Still good though...

Been listening to both albums - Perceptive Deception, and Stagnated Existence - alot lately and in comparison its hard to say which is more of a stand out album.

PD, is more the brutal album with the vocals very low and hoarse that they are incomprehensible. The production is kind of poor which makes the guitars sound more gritty which isnt bad thing. But, the lack of sound quality does make the drums not sound as clear making the blast beats on the snare almost tin like (like they were made on a drum machine).

SE, the production on this album is a big improvement on this album, but, for me it actually almost works against them. The sound is kind of hollow with out the fuzzy distortion and because there riffs are more technical it just seems like its missing something. The vocals are more clear too and you can just understand them, but im in favour of the brutal style he used on PD.

Dont know why, the blast beats on the snare sound again tin like and almost drum-machine sounding. Romain Goulon preformed the drums for this album and the other band he plays is - Arsebreed - they too sound simular, so maybe its just the equipment that he uses. Hes killer with his blast beats though, reminds me a little bit of Mick Smith from Suffocation.

Ive got almost enough here for reviews on both album, haha. Will work on one tomorrow seeing as it looks like I can write enough about both of the albums.

Full album! I don't listen to a lot of brutal death, but this is something very good. Some great drumming here!

Some great drumming here!

The album's greatest strength by far. His timing and personal inflection make their mark on an otherwise soulless sound, but it's still some quality bdm.
