A Collector's Journey - SIGH

Thumbs up: +2
This list is a fun little project for me. It chronicles my quest to collect the works of my favorite band of all time, the mighty Sigh! I've tried to list the albums in the order that I collected them, although my memory may be off a bit it is basically correct. Before Sigh I had never really ran into the problem of an album I wanted to buy being out of print and hard to find. Scouring the internet for these rare treasures has turned into a fun (albeit expensive) hobby of mine. Every time I get some new Sigh loot I'll update this list. Still missing the demo tapes and early EPs, however the main part of the collection is near completion. I'd like to see other similar lists to see what other MSers are collecting.

1. Sigh - In Somniphobia
Ah, the album that started it all. I got this and Imaginary Sonicscape in the mail after listening to some songs on YouTube. Never would I expect what this purchase would lead to. I own the CD and vinyl version.
2. Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape
The 2nd full album I heard and received from this wonderful band. Early on I actually wasn't sure I even liked this album, now it is probably my favorite album of all time. Initially bought the re-release version, later I bought the original solely for the original version of "Bring Back the Dead".
3. Sigh - Scenes From Hell
Although this was the 3rd Sigh album I actually bought, it was actually sampling this album that got me interested in this band in the first place.
4. Sigh - Gallows Gallery [re-edit]
At this point I was completely hooked on Sigh and I was certain everything this band made was gold, so naturally when I saw this in a CD store while on vacation I grabbed it. Currently I only own the re-master, simply because I know that the original will be cheap no matter when I buy it.
5. Sigh - Hail Horror Hail
This is the album I have to thank for my introduction to eBay. After searching around online and figuring out that I wouldn't find it on Amazon or big name online stores, I finally decided to give these auctions a try. Bidding can be intense! Now I am always scouring eBay and it's actually kind of fun, although not good for my financial health. Later I also won the Crypt 3x vinyl version on splatter vinyl. :D
6. Sigh - Hangman's Hymn: Musikalische Exequien
Got sick of waiting for the rare older releases on eBay and ordered this bad boy on CD. Sweet!
7. Sigh - Scorn Defeat
Shew. The most difficult part of this collection for sure. I'm not sure you can count the number of times this album has been released and re-released on your fingers! I now have 4 re-release versions and the Vinyl Collectors vinyl version. I have a feeling it'll be a while before I can acquire the 2 original Deathlike Silence Productions prints, and not to mention the expensive and long sold out Crypt vinyl.
8. Sigh - Scenario IV: Dread Dreams
A win from eBay. I probably paid a little more than I should for this one, due to my eBay noobness at the time, but oh well, it is a great album. I also have the promo version for this.
9. Sigh - Sigh's Tribute To Venom
Probably one of my best eBay deals. This comes in 3 separate vinyl colors, black, the rarer red, and the super rare peppermint which I believe is limited to a mere 100 copies. I won all 3 for only about $33! Great deal if you ask me!
10. Sigh - Infidel Art
Ah, this one has evaded me for a while. This seems to be the rarest of the old Sigh CDs, other than the DSP releases, and is quite expensive. I finally snatched the original, as well as the unofficial digibook release. Also the Crypt vinyl release is something I'm on the lookout for.
11. Sigh - The Curse Of Izanagi
Got this one for a great price directly from the label!
12. Sigh - Ghastly Funeral Theatre
The last Sigh album (or EP) I heard, and it sure didn't disappoint! Super high quality EP. Once again my collection is missing the Crypt vinyl release.
13. Sigh - The Eastern Force Of Evil: Live '92-'96
Grabbed this rarity from eBay
