Some nice bands to discover here. Triad doesn't really belong, does it? Needs more Liquid Tension Experiment!

Also - Exodus '07, Deicide '08, Opeth Damnation, Jethro Tull's Bourée/Serenade to a Cuckoo/Cat's Squirrel/Round/For Later! Oh, and 1969 Led Zeppelin + '87 Joe Satriani ...'90 Steve Vai while we're on the subject... k, that's enough from me

Triad doesn't really belong, does it?

Why is that?

Quote:

Can you include some song titles? I haven't listened to every album from these, and don't want to listen to every single one right now. I went ahead and added Moby Dick.
Carl Berg - 14.01.2013 at 05:31
+1 for Voice of the soul
Syk - 14.01.2013 at 05:49
Exo - Call to Arms, Deic End of the Beginning/Beginning of the End, Opeth's Ending Credits. Satch & Vai are almost entirely instrumental - I'd go with a track 4 &/or 7 from either.

I thought Triad was not an inst, the last I heard it...

And now I can't pass up mentioning Jeff Beck - Rice Pudding, Beck's Bolero, Star Cycle & The Pump are all classics

It is. There's some vocally-sounding noises near the beginning, though.

Thanks for the rest of the suggestions, they'll be listened to soon.

Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls is divine

Windowpane on Damnation (Opeth) is a wonderful song (the best on the album for me), so check that one out.

I'll probably be back with some suggestions, since I don't have the time for that now.
R'Vannith - 15.01.2013 at 06:19
Awww yeah, Satch Boogie!
EMols86 - 15.01.2013 at 17:39
Where the hell is Agalloch? The Mantle has plenty of great songs for this list, like Odal, The Lodge or The Hawthorne Passage. Or The Misshapen Steed (Pale Folklore), which is an amazing song. Furthermore:

Akelei - Een Droom in 6/8 (De Zwaarte van het Doorstane)
Anathema - ...Alone (The Silent Enigma)
Dark Tranquillity - Ex Nihilo (Damage Done)
Lake Of Tears - Otherwheres (Forever Autumn)
Opeth - For Absent Friends (Deliverance) & Silhouette (Orchid) (better than the two Opeth songs you've listed in my opinion)
Saturnus - Lament For This Treacherous World (Paradise Belongs To You)
Summoning - Wyrmvater Glaurung (Dol Guldur)
Tiamat - Planets (Wildhoney)
JohnDoe - 15.01.2013 at 21:20
Rush - La Villa Strangiato is missing.

Rush - La Villa Strangiato is missing.

I had that on the original draft of the list, but when I lost it I forgot to add it again. Fixed that ^^
EMols86 - 15.01.2013 at 23:58
The Silent Enigma is the album and ...Alone is the song.

Also, it's Wildhoney, not Wildyhoney.

On a side note, you might want to limit the amount of bands to feature in this list. 4 times Opeth is a bit too much if you ask me.
Opethian - 16.01.2013 at 00:10

Orion's there but not Call Of Ktulu? But I guess the Equilibrium one makes up for it.
Ozejames - 18.01.2013 at 17:55
Martriden - ascention, Pt 2
Quirin - 18.01.2013 at 20:44
Could have spared some room for Raise The Hammer http://youtu.be/VcP5zFzAw40, Inishmore (http://youtu.be/ZzbI47svbCg), or even Musical Death (http://youtu.be/fQbudNKR0NE)... or just so many others.

(and you'd choose Gandalf's Rebirth over By The Gates Of Moria, really?)

Well, most of this list is quite unexpected. Matter of taste, of course, but still.
F.N.S.C.A.C - 27.01.2013 at 17:34
No Mogwai?
Death_95 - 07.04.2013 at 23:10
Great list, but you forgot my favorite instrumentals Dying Brokenhearted and A Gentle Grieving Farewell KIss... both by Empyrium
Jiri - 06.05.2013 at 04:41
Arcturus - Ad Astra. Nuff said (if one can consider it an instrumental song due to random sampled vocals that is).
