1. Paranoid (1970) - 10
2. Sabotage (1975) - 9.9
3. Master of Reality (1971) - 9.8
4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973) - 9.8
** The top 4 truly rotate consistently, based purely on my mood at the time, but to me, Paranoid is the only one that doesn't have a single moment that isn't extraordinary. Everything about it is perfection. Yes, it's probably the "popular pick", and I rarely end up pimping the most "popular pick" but this time I do

5. Black Sabbath (1970) - 9.6
6. Mob Rules (1981) - 9.5
7. Heaven and Hell (1980) - 9.4
8. Vol 4 (1972) - 9.2
** The above 4 are still outstanding albums, and Supernaut might be their best song and one of the greatest riffs in metal history. I'm one of the few who likes Mob Rules better than H&H but it's close. Very close.

9. Dehumanizer (1992) - 8.6
10. Headless Cross (1989) - 8.3
11. The Eternal Idol (1987) - 8.1
** The next 3 have flaws but still have high moments with few flaws. Nothing earth shattering, and certainly not as ground breaking or unique as the top 8, but still albums worth repeated listens. Eternal Idol is notably better than I remember, and all 3 are worthwhile though I will still spend 95% of my Sabbath listening on the first 8

12. 13 (2013) - 7.6
13. Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know (2009) - 7.4
14. Tyr (1990) - 6.9
15. Born Again (1983) - 6.8
** These have a few highs each but a lot of filler/mediocre moments. 13 was basically early Sabbath without the unique ideas. I will revisit these periodically but infrequently. I wish Born Again was more consistent, because Ian Gillan is The Man. If side 2 of Born Again was as good as side 1, it'd be up in the tier above

16. Never Say Die! (1978) - 6.2
17. Technical Ecstasy (1976) - 6.1
18. Cross Purposes (1994) - 5.7
** These 3 are pretty weak but have 1 or 2 worthwhile songs apiece.

19. Seventh Star (1986) - 4.8
20. Forbidden (1995) - 4.3
** These 2 are comfortably the worst albums in Sabbath's discography to me. I was recently reminded why haven't listened to Seventh Star in over 3 decades. I saw the UMO thread proclaiming this one of Sabbath's best post-Dio, and I just don't get it at all. Forbidden is...well it's bad. Real bad. Both of these are every bit as shitty as I remember.
