The Best Metal Albums* From A To # (C)

This list is meant to be an extensive, but by no means exhaustive, collection of the greatest (modern) metal albums and eps. Running the gamut from avant-garde to trve norweigan black metal. *As someone who is young in age, my tastes tend to revolve around the period of the 80s to the present.* Although certain metal albums from before will certainly be featured, the period of the 60s-70s will be under-represented. I refer you to this excellent list to gain a better appreciation for some of the best metal from that period: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/freis/martin_popoffs_the_top_500_heavy_metal_albums_of_all_time/

1.Cacophony - Speed Metal Symphony
2.Cadaveria - In Your Blood
3.Caïna - Mourner
4.Caïnan Dawn - F.O.H.A.T.
5.Cain's Offering - Stormcrow

The 2010s: Apothecary's Favorites

Self explanatory. Favorite metal albums from this current decade. It's probably going to be mostly black, doom, and drone related type albums, as that's mostly what I listen to, but not entirely. Full streams provided when available.

Hopefully this'll be something to return to nostalgically when I'm 40 and we can access the Internet neurologically while we sleep.

1.
2.Ihsahn - After
3.The Body - All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood
4.Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini
5.Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones

My Favorite Black And Doom Metal Albums Of 2012!

Its in alphabetical order by albums... Some albums on this list may or may not be the exact description of Black or Doom Metal or their subgenres. They just seem to fit for my taste and way I like my Black And Doom dosage. I'm sure some may say Les Discrets and Alcest and other bands on the list can't be Black or Doom because of their sounds and lyrical themes, but if their music gives me that darkness that let's say Watain or Gorgoroth give in Black Metal just without the Satanic lyrics and more of the emotions of Blackness and Doom then to me its Black Metal and the same goes to whatever Doom bands are on my list. If anyone checks out my list, thanks.

1.Mental Home - Угра
2.Forgotten Tomb - ...And Don't Deliver Us From Evil
3.Profetus - ...To Open The Passages In Dusk
4.Narrow House - A Key To Panngrieb
5.A Forest Of Stars - A Shadowplay For Yesterdays

A List Of Great One-Man Band Albums

Creating good music might not be an easy task, but most bands in existence consist of multiple members who contribute to the music. One-man bands however are simply musicians who create the music all by themselves, which, in my opinion, is very impressive. Because of the fact that there are quite a few of these talented musicians, I created this list. Of course there are many more one-man band albums than I have listed here and that's why I'm open to suggestions. So be sure to give me recommendations and also let me know if I listed the "wrong" album by a band (in your opinion). Lastly, the list is ranked according to genre and then alphabetically. I only add 1 (full-length) album per band (and only albums that are featured on MS).

1.
2.Aarni - Bathos
3.Brown Jenkins - Death Obsession
4.Cloak Of Altering - Ancient Paths Through Timeless Voids
5.De Magia Veterum - The Divine Antithesis

2012's SILVERfox-compatible METAL

Another year, another favourites of the year list... But hopefully this will be more complete than the previous years ones. Rather than making a massive list of everything I have listened to, I'll be as selective as possible. I've only started listening to 2012 releases since February, so I'll be playing catch up throughout the year as my time is limited. I've only gone through 556 releases this year properly as of 07/01/2013, so the list can only expand! If you feel strongly about certain albums released this year and it's not here, be sure to leave a comment! Feel free to make a list that's exactly the same =P

1.CSSABA - Underground Lo-Fi Songs
2.Indesinence - Vessels Of Light And Decay
3.Monolithe - Interlude Second
4.Nadja - The Primitive World
5.In The Silence - A Fair Dream Gone Mad

A list of 2012 albums I found good, interesting or just worth checking out - and some I reviewed that turned out to be crap.

You can find several full reviews on my RYM list. Check it out.
