Wanna know what I headbang to on the regular? The releases that have seen countless re-spins... Well, this is a very simple list and something you've probably seen a lot of other MS users do in the past. Basically, I'm just going to list what are essential metal albums for me, my all time gems & masterpieces (very subjective and some are also in there due to nostalgia and sentimental value).

There's no particular ''Genre'' that I'll be covering and I will also try to limit myself to two albums per band and a few of my favorite tracks or highlights per album. Of course everything in this list is just my opinion, meaning that I'm not saying these albums are all masterpieces or whatnot, it's just my personal favorites. I hope most of you will agree with me and those few who don't, well... it's okay to be wrong, the next step is acceptance

This is a list of my favourite debut albums.
I'm sure there are some years that will have multiple great debut albums but I'm limiting to only putting one band per year.
The ones that I put in the list is (in my opinion) the best debut album of that year, while the rest are put in honourable mentions.

Some albums are really good. Many of these are good all the way around. And, in many cases, there is a single song that stands out, sometimes it's the last song on the album. This is a list of those songs.

For a more in depth look at this, I've codified each into a given category:
Type 1 - 'The long song at the end.' Often the title track. These have a tendency to be most well written and dynamic pieces on the album.

The same rules and regulations apply as for 2011/2. It will be a short list. It wasn't a good year. I think. I actually don't know, you see. Read the comments to gauge my enthusiasm. It's good exercise for my 2013 list. Which I would totally make if I heard at least one metal album. January is nearly over. No metal. Weak, dude.

I'll keep expanding this list continuously, so all suggestions are welcome (granted they are featured on MS). All the albums here are ranked according to genre and then alphabetically. If a certain album belongs to the (in your opinion) wrong genre, then definitely let me know.

The Current Decade (2010-2019) in order of preference. This is separate from my year-lists, which strive to include as many albums from the year as possible regardless of quality. Only albums I deem worthy of a favorites list by personal taste will make it. I'd say Axioma Ethica Odini has a major step up on anything beneath it this decade; it's the only truly perfect album so far in my eyes. Last overhauled: May 13th. Now it's a bit tighter.
