Top lists
Embers Of The Dying Night: Top Metal Albums Of 2020 It is interesting to see how the passing of time affects taste, preferences, and lists of this type. I'm writing these lists as a means to share the music I like, and by now it has become a tradition, albeit one which very few people read on a regular basis, if at all, but one which I have no intention of giving up. I published my first yearly list back in 2007. At first, I would publish them on last.FM and myspace (yes, I am that old), then I moved to Facebook, migrated to Tumblr, think I even tried Instagram, but I was never satisfied with any of those as a platform to share my annual and other lists and scribblings with others. Some years ago I started sharing my lists on the metal storm, thanks to their quite useful tool called lists, which is made for exactly that reason. When I added my lists to the metal storm, I reworked them and expanded a bit, adding some sort of a template, from my old lists that I still had saved up at various places. Besides a top ten and honorable mentions, there are few other sub-categories, which are basically just my way of telling people that I really loved that album, and that they should really fuckin'listen to it. The fact that I think that anyone besides myself is actually that much interested in my annual top lists or best (mostly) metal albums speaks more about me, I guess.

2020 Favourite Albums Every metal album I've heard so far from 2020 rated 5/10 or more. My tastes are predominately thrash, heavy and power metal (I was a teenager in the 80s!). I loved a lot of black and death metal in the 90s but I find it hard to get excited by much extreme stuff in my old age. The odd thing still tickles my fancy though.

Top Metal Albums Each Year I Have Been Alive 2020 A little list series where I list my top 20 favorite metal albums every year starting from the year I was born in.
2020 was something, obviously a lot of horrible shit that happened, but at least there was some great metal that carried me throughout that bleak year, especially in Black metal and Gothic metal witch was fitting. This is the last list of this series, since I already made a list of my favorite albums of 2021 last year. It was fun doing this journey and going through old memories and revisiting classics, thanks for reading and sharing your favorites and lists, metal for life 🤘🎸. My favorite non metal albums 1. Brave Faces Everyone By Spanish Love Songs (Emo, Pop punk) 2. Visions of Bodies Being Burned By clipping. (Horrorcore, Experimental Hip Hop) 3. Set My Heart on Fire Immediately By Perfume Genius (Art pop, Baroque Pop) 4. Heaven To A Tortured Mind By Yves Tumor (Neo-Psychedelia, Art Rock, Glam Rock) 5. RTJ4 By Run the Jewels (Hardcore Hip Hop, Experimental Hip Hop) My favorite movie from 2020

Artwork: Folk Metal Albums This is a list of (celtic/medieval/extreme) folk metal albums (in alphabetical order) based on their artwork. It includes iconic cover art from classic albums as well as fascinating work from more recent releases.
There is a saying that "you should not judge a book by its cover", which is of course also true in the case of music albums. However, the artwork can complement the production and give a visual introduction to the musical theme and atmosphere. More than for any other kind of music, this may be true for metal. Top 20 Albums Of 2020 Very hard to sort this one. A different year with albums from all sorts of genres. Not the best year but also far from the worst. Mörk Gryning was the pleasant surprise of the year with their best album since "Tusen år har gått..."
Turmion Kätilöt released the catchiest song of all time, "Revi Minut Auki".
