I've been waiting a long time for a Thy Catafalque album to make me feel this level of joy.

Yeah, but I'm quite in love with "Vető" myself

Every time Thy Catafalque come up with a new album, I feel like there's something wrong with me. I never understand the hype. Maybe I take music too seriously but I just can't enjoy this mess...

100% loving every minute of this. So groovy and fun and engaging and varied beyond belief. Looking forward to this being topped before the end of the year but as it stands, this is going down as an early favorite for album of the year.

Pretty disappointed with this album (as with the last one from 2018), it seems the band has just gone completely avante-garde and lost all sense of cohesion of structured songs. Tsitsushka is perhaps the worst song i've heard from the band so far. Some people might be into this, but it's just a giant mess to me for the most part. There's some interesting moments, especially in songs like: 1.A bolyongás ideje, 6.Kék madár (Négy kép) and 8.Vető. However, even these are quite random, but definitely the better songs off the album for me.

Every time, or the last two times? The last two albums have been completely uninspiring to me, however, the 5 albums before are amazing to me.

First album I listened to was Sgurr. Didn't particularly like it. Their song cohesion for me started to break down with Meta. But the last two albums are definitely the worst

Sgurr isn't perfect, but it is still one of my favourites. It has some amazing songs, including: Elo leny (easily the best song), Jura, and Alfoldi kozmosz
Meta.

Meta was probably even stronger for me, i loved the range of styles on this one. Best songs in order: Mezolit (best song they ever wrote), Siraly, Urania, 10^(-20), Ixion Duun.

The latest two were a massive drop off because they are just far less inspiring. Geometrica is just entirely unmemorable, despite having nice moments here and there. Naiv is mostly the same, but with more experimentation and diversity.

I personally couldn't get enough of Geometria, absolutely loved it. This one is also great but probably just behind Geometria, even though it's a bit more varied. Time will tell though, as TC gets better and better with every listen, more so than other bands. It'll probably get the most plays of any band this year from me

Not special in my opinion, but definitely good. Tracks #1, #2, #5, #7 and #9 are standard quality Thy Catafalque songs, while "Kék Madár" and maybe "Embersólyom" provide a new aspect for this band's music.

Finally found some time to listen to this through few times. Not as weird as I was expecting, but creative enough to be surprising and endlessly intriguing to listen to, even though there are few weaker moments every now and then. As far as I have come to understand this artist, this might not the best record they have to offer, but even then I found myself enjoying this album more than any other new metal release this year so far .

Meta, Geometria and Naiv. Three albums I have heard from these guys. All of them are excellent in their own accord. Naiv I feel is mostly an instrumental album with occasional vocals here and there. Tsitsushka is also really good especially with that sax ending. This album move at a faster pace than the other two albums I have heard. I am slightly disappointed with the dearth of black metal in this album, Geometria had more considerable portions, but the overall treatment of the album definitely puts me in a happier mood.

It's funny that me and you feel the complete opposite between this album and Vadak, Maybe because that album was my first entry to Thy Catafalque ?

I started with Vadak and am moving backwards now. At first I thought I preferred Vadak but Naiv has a more consistent vibe throughout that makes it feel more like an ALBUM which isn't as disjointed in comparison. I still love both but Naiv really won me over. Naiv stays pretty consistent with its sound and weirdness but there is still enough variety to put a lot of other bands to shame. When there are vocals they are mostly female singing and there's a prevalent mix between strange folkyness and 70s atmosphere with the synths which all serves as the connecting tissue for Naiv. There was almost nothing that I didn't like and almost every song had a few days where it was my favorite of the bunch as I listened again and again.
