After Slipknot's first two albums blew us away with their high level of sheer violence, their third album "The Subliminal Verses" had evolved to a much more melodic and mature sound, but still keeping much of that brutality that Slipknot is (was) praised for. It's safe to say that their fourth release "All Hope Is Gone" continues that path. It's still Slipknot, yet it's very, very different to the work that first made them famous.

Gematria (The Killing Name) & Sulfur & Psychosocial & Dead Memories
& Gehenna & All Hope Is Gone & 'Til We Die ... Tell you what else? This is better than another .... Not so ...?.... Then wait until 2012.

I dont know if its just my tastes in music but im personally thinking slipknots 1st 2 albums were BY FAR their best and have been going downhill since Iowa, I mean Subliminal Wasnt that amazing to me and this one just donest have that many songs that jump out at me like they used to, like Psychosocial is really to me the only memorable track, the rest just kind of blends in to much, i dont know thats just how i hear it
